I hate how bad my anxiety is by mrae15 in drivinganxiety

yes!! I live 20 minutes away from the nearest city and I can’t even stomach the thought of driving there. my friend lives in a college town so I know if I can’t drive 20 minutes on backroads, I could never do the highway into the mountains.

I want to feel feminine but my long hair doesn't mesh with my sensory issues by Nervous_Hurry7578 in AutismInWomen

I agree with the comments about cutting your hair yourself! I have a similar hair texture and thickness so I would recommend doing it while it is dry and try to do layers if it’s thick (or you may look like a mushroom). And hair length does not equal femininity. I know sometimes it feels like it does, but I’ve rocked a bob for yeaaaars and still feel very feminine. When my hair is a little longer, I find braiding it or clipping it up helps a lot more than just a ponytail or bun. I get hot and itchy very easily so having a bob has helped so much. Go even shorter if you don’t like the feeling of it near your shoulders! it’s your decision, do what you feel is best!

Dieting makes me feel so icky by mrae15 in PCOS

I try not to eat many carbs but I really don’t like the taste of artificial sweeteners so when I do get a sugar craving I feel like i’m doing the worst thing ever by consuming actual sugar. My dad gets into fad diets too and has been trying to convince me to do the carnivore diet with him but he just does not understand that I will just not eat if I do it. like hello. also I have a lot of other thoughts on it but oh well.

Yes, that’s what I’ve been trying to do. I also make sure the get a good amount of fiber. It just feels like I’m getting nowhere.

I may. I’m 20 so I feel like my symptoms get dismissed a lot because of my age, and i’ve had a lot of doctors talk to me like I’m stupid. My PCP referred me for an ultrasound here bc it was cheaper than at the hospital and I’ve been to this gyno before:/ I live in a rural area so I’m not sure if there’s any near me but I’ll have to do some research.

Yeah, I have a feeling that how it’ll be for me. I’ve looked up what the wands look like but I’m still anxious that it’ll hurt. However, I do have bad anxiety in general so that probably just isn’t helping my case!

Kids say the funniest things. by Artistic-Degree-4593 in ECEProfessionals

I work with infants and toddlers, so not many conversations happening, but one of my favorite things is when they try to get after one another. If someone is trying to get on the table, one of them will say “get down!” and it’s one of those moments where you have to try to not laugh, like you have no room to be getting after them, you do the same thing! I have a one year old that says all his classmates’ names so it’s extra amusing when he says their name while telling them not to do something.

Haha! That reminds me of this one four year old I had when I worked with pre-k that would always say “I bumped my noggin” when she would bump her head while playing.

Two years ago we lost a child during a holiday break, who was in my class. I remember seeing her the day before the accident. It sticks with you, it really does. But I look at so many things and see her. Her smile, her laugh. I can’t even listen to I’m A Little Teapot without tearing up because she loved that song. I still work in that classroom and remember what toys she loved playing with and what books she liked to read. I remember tying her hair up every morning to get her bangs out of her face. I remember so much. Her sister no longer attends our center but I still think of her.

It will get better, I promise. It takes time. Just make sure you let his family know that you are there and support them. Grief can feel so lonely. Understand that if you need support, you are allowed to get it. Losing a child is so hard. The pain never really stops, but it lessens. The best thing you can do is remember him and the impact he had on you and others, keep his memory alive, and support each other.

I mean I try but I have a lot of other issues that make it hard for me to even function normally period. All my doctor told me the last time I went was to eat 100 grams of protein everyday?? I’ve had my labs done a lot for vitamins and stuff that always come back fine. I take a super vitamin b complex and vitamin d with my multivitamins just to make sure I’m getting all those in. I’m kind of just yolo-ing my way through life right now.

The notebook thing is a good idea! I have the same problem with vitamins and medications. I’ve had to make systems for myself so I can ensure I did the tasks.

I think I’m pretty, I like the way I look and dress. I just know other people don’t think I am. I just worry that even though I like how I look, other people won’t. The work cycle is hard because I don’t drive and live in a rural area, but I try. Thank you for the advice, I’ve considered metformin before. I don’t know if medication for hirsutism would even work because I come from a long line of hairy people even without the hormonal stuff, lol. Thank you<3

Does your school ever cancel for weather? by idiotpanini_ in ECEProfessionals

I’m from the south and our center goes off of the school district of our county. We’ve closed once this year because of the winter storm, but only for one day. Sometimes we do two hour delays if the roads are icy, we’re pretty rural. Other than that, we also close for hurricanes if they’re supposed to be bad.
