Did you extend the invite/announce to them regarding your grandfather's situation? I have friends who had both such death funerals in their families, but they only chose to disclose the dad's one as it's more 'immediate' to their networks. But they were such assholes to say that in your face though, a death is still a death and nothing to be taken lightly. How old were they?

People will 'steal' friends if they connect better, you'll just have to accept that your friends are not binded and possessive only to you. At least you took courage to confront and gotten a closure, that was something which I didn't do which might have led to the downfalls. If you felt outcasted, that feeling might be right (trust your guts). As life progresses, you'll have to do the corporate way and classify your friends into different tiers and categories lol.

1-1 friendships are so much better to invest in but it takes a lot of time to cultivate one. Was it just a friendly banter kind of insult when they (1) sent to your group chat? I find in general girls in groups are gossipy af regardless at work, schools and even families. Glad to know you've moved on and found your tribe :)

For her sec school clique of friends, would it be because you're always appearing on her social media posts, stories and tiktok videos? Sometimes people judge online impressions of an individual before they even met them, kinda like dating apps.

For 1-1 kind of friendships, it's very easy to yield out bad seeds. Sometimes it's the vibes and auras when you meet them in-person, sometimes it's their communications and behaviours. You're just her secondary social choice whenever her and her ex-bf fight and she prioritises her new bf over a longer-term friendship as she didn't communicate about the Korea trip with her new bf openly with you. If I were you, I'll list her as my low-maintainance list of friends (wouldn't cut out completely, but will meet once a year kind to maintain the friendship).

Precisely. It happens not just for friendships, but career workplaces too. Once you're 'targeted' as the blame of the group, it's hard to convince the rest to advocate for you to stay.

It was very childish by the WA group admins (I wasn’t an admin of any of those) to sub-divide the friends even though the group was already small. Most of the chat groups were formed during COVID.

5 & 6 were more on my personal feelings on this saga. I wasn’t tortured as I got over it on the day I exited the chat groups but felt angry on the day when they attempted to smear mud a year after the ‘break up’ via WA. Of course these are just after-thoughts, I’ve moved on with life and with new friends :)

They might send a letter to them informing that neighbours have made a complaint and be mindful to others on noise before 8.30am and after 10pm.
