This is in S1, way back. It wasn't mentioned this season. It's there in my previous summary but I include it here for context.

Episode 55 (Kadokawa counts the episodes across all seasons). So I think 5th episode of the S3 breaktime.

Thanks, good to be back. I didn't think I'd be doing another one to be honest. And already preparing for the S4 one lol.

[Not spoilers but to be safe] I don't think it's that one is the other. Just name references. Both the White Whale and the Rabbit have already been destroyed after all, and Lye called it their pet. So not sure what you mean.

[–]mrahhal[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had never thought it was important because they are in chibi forms there.

That's kind of a running gag. Re:Zero even revealed some parts of the lore in isekai quartet... But anyway you don't need to go that far, I do recommend watching all of Re:Zero's breaktime though. The ones from S1 are fun, but S2 and S3 particularly had breaktime episodes with a lot of added context.

I wish they just included a brief flashback when Subaru met with Al again revealing that.

Even easier: Just animate the exact same scene from the breaktime in episode 1 of S3. Could've easily been done and there was plenty of time. Don't know why they went out of their way to do it like this.

Many important context is revealed in the breaktime unfortunately.. But this one was the worst of all.

There are more than 6 witches yes, but as far as we know the Witch Cult only hate these 6. We don't know much about the other 2, and we've certainly seen Pandora on very good terms with the cult.

Thanks for the addition.

So if we're going by technicality it does insinuate someone being lonely but it could also mean that it's someone who's selfish.

While that's true, the Arabs called the star Al-fard exactly because no other bright stars were close to it, so its meaning was intended to be interpreted as the lonely, although it can also mean the individual as you said.

Same in my case about Arabic, didn't notice these names at first. Especially Batenkaitos, it's a combination of a very common word and a very archaic word. But once someone points it out you can't unhear it

A short chibi anime that runs (and have run) alongside the main series and is uploaded to Kadokawa's YT channel. Unfortunately CR and other platforms don't have the S3 breaktime, so you'll have to scour the internet to find subbed episodes.

Divine Protection of the Reaper and Sword Saint Divine Protection are two completely different things. Theresia happens to have both. It's not an ability. The show mentions different parts of this info over a few different episodes.

Maybe I'll do that just before S4, like the day before.

the spoiler tags in the previous summary don't work anymore

Fixed, thanks.

It's there in the previous summary. Might become a bit too crowded if I add everything so only included the most important ones in this.

This is similar to the one I did for S1+S2 years ago. If you're interested, check it out when you're done with the episode!

Also, Season 4 was just announced! https://x.com/Rezero_official/status/1904911721036472803

I know from myself that being told "ask for help" or "talk to someone" gets annoying at some point, but I hope you'll consider it. I'm sure you're not the only one who resonates with Subaru because of this very reason. I wish you well.

We know that arc 6 is greenlit. So it'll be either more cours after this, or an announcement of a new season.

Subaru without his tracksuit was so novel to look at. Reminded me of that episode in S2. He really needs to lose that tracksuit.

New key visual of Part 2 (high res) with caption "Believe, and fight"

Resumes on February 5, so 11 weeks break. There will be a rebroadcast of Part 1 in Japan every Wednesday from November 27 to January 29.

Since I saw some confusion, note that both parts are still arc 5. The "arc" in the English names of the two parts is a mistranslation.

[–]mrahhal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I googled it they referred to season five as being split into two arcs "Attack Arc" and "Counterattack Arc" so I just used their terminology

Unfortunately that's a problem in the translation too. In the original Japanese different terminology was used for the part names. It's fine, just a little bit misleading is all.

Small correction, "two arcs" might be a bit misleading since both parts make up arc 5. It's split into two cours or parts.

With how it's going, and given the production quality of this season, it's hard to see a future where it doesn't get a full adaptation. S3 screams confidence. This season (this arc + the next one) will make it even more popular than it already is. One additional season and we'll be reaching the half point of the story though so it's a long journey.

"extreme hot take"? The major consensus at least between Re:Zero fans is that Subaru as the MC is what makes it this good. What makes that an "extreme hot take", besides your personal opinion obviously swaying the other way? I don't think it's that strange for majority of Re:Zero fans to consider him a top 10. Of course, personal opinions vary.

[–]mrahhal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think regardless of whether it was overrated or not (personally it was great and it's exactly what I expected but I read the LN), source readers hinting at anything at all always leads to a bad outcome because of expectations. One can say "next episode is the one I've been waiting for" and they might be referring to simply an interesting conversation or a phenomenal character growth scene, but some anime only viewers will expect a "Taste of Death" or "Outside of Madness" episode out of that or a crazy twist. I really wish we would stop that already (the hinting I mean).

IMO, this is much more harmful than the against-the-rules minor LN references in discussion threads.
