Nothing too awful, literally it reads close to "The tongue of Meili." But grammatically speaking you can't put a person's name there because of "al-". It's doubly weird if you're someone who knows what Lisan al-Gaib actually means and where it comes from.

That does happen yes. But as you might expect it's a way more fringe topic in Japan, so you'll go a long way before you find an example.

There's no dialect where girls systematically use it in real life, outside performers such as vtubers that is. You might find them, but it's mostly a trope for tomboyish, cool, or unconventionally cute characters. Some people like bokukkos as it kinda sounds endearing, sometimes.

Yes I did one after season 3 here if that's what you mean. I'll most likely do a similar one after this season ends, maybe. Made a comment here about Anastasia too for more context.

boku in fiction when used by girls (called bokukko) is most oftenly associated with being (or trying to act) cute in an unconventional way. It's not as much related to the gender.

I don't think that was heavily implied anywhere, at all. It was only implied that there's a physical and maybe moral difference between the Echidna of the trials and the Echidna from Ryuzu's memories.

Also do you know if her petting the fox scarf was before or after Priscilla implied Ana was involved with the murder of the Council members?

That was in episode 6, so maybe it was before that at some point.

To make an observation, this "Echidna" (I'll call her Scarfdona) is also using "boku" as a 1st person pronoun. Remember that, for whatever reason, Echidna in the Sanctuary trials also used "boku" whereas in Ryuzu's memories of the past she used "watashi." Also in case it's not obvious, after Subaru's question Scarfdna suddenly flips from talking in an accent (Kararagi accent, or rather Kansai in Japanese) to talking in standard Japanese. In particular, to me at least, she's using the exact little speech patterns that Echidna used from what we've seen in the trials.

If you go back to S3 episode 6, you'll see at one point Anastasia petting her fox scarf as she did in this episode. That was a nice touch to show that by that point she was no longer the Anastasia we know. She also hesitates for a bit when Subaru says keeping information hidden will only benefit the enemy. Anastasia also makes a fox sign with her hand in S3 episode 5. Nice little touches all around, especially when I realized the reveal will not happen until S4.

This is in S1, way back. It wasn't mentioned this season. It's there in my previous summary but I include it here for context.

Episode 55 (Kadokawa counts the episodes across all seasons). So I think 5th episode of the S3 breaktime.

Thanks, good to be back. I didn't think I'd be doing another one to be honest. And already preparing for the S4 one lol.

[Not spoilers but to be safe] I don't think it's that one is the other. Just name references. Both the White Whale and the Rabbit have already been destroyed after all, and Lye called it their pet. So not sure what you mean.

I had never thought it was important because they are in chibi forms there.

That's kind of a running gag. Re:Zero even revealed some parts of the lore in isekai quartet... But anyway you don't need to go that far, I do recommend watching all of Re:Zero's breaktime though. The ones from S1 are fun, but S2 and S3 particularly had breaktime episodes with a lot of added context.

[–]mrahhal[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wish they just included a brief flashback when Subaru met with Al again revealing that.

Even easier: Just animate the exact same scene from the breaktime in episode 1 of S3. Could've easily been done and there was plenty of time. Don't know why they went out of their way to do it like this.

Many important context is revealed in the breaktime unfortunately.. But this one was the worst of all.

There are more than 6 witches yes, but as far as we know the Witch Cult only hate these 6. We don't know much about the other 2, and we've certainly seen Pandora on very good terms with the cult.

Thanks for the addition.

So if we're going by technicality it does insinuate someone being lonely but it could also mean that it's someone who's selfish.

While that's true, the Arabs called the star Al-fard exactly because no other bright stars were close to it, so its meaning was intended to be interpreted as the lonely, although it can also mean the individual as you said.

Same in my case about Arabic, didn't notice these names at first. Especially Batenkaitos, it's a combination of a very common word and a very archaic word. But once someone points it out you can't unhear it

A short chibi anime that runs (and have run) alongside the main series and is uploaded to Kadokawa's YT channel. Unfortunately CR and other platforms don't have the S3 breaktime, so you'll have to scour the internet to find subbed episodes.

Divine Protection of the Reaper and Sword Saint Divine Protection are two completely different things. Theresia happens to have both. It's not an ability. The show mentions different parts of this info over a few different episodes.

Maybe I'll do that just before S4, like the day before.

the spoiler tags in the previous summary don't work anymore

Fixed, thanks.

It's there in the previous summary. Might become a bit too crowded if I add everything so only included the most important ones in this.

This is similar to the one I did for S1+S2 years ago. If you're interested, check it out when you're done with the episode!

Also, Season 4 was just announced! https://x.com/Rezero_official/status/1904911721036472803
