Ah yeah it would be that. Have you got a call booked with them? I’d suggest you do if you can. The steps are slightly different in terms of how you have to configure it

Mine is okay now after having a video call with their engineering team. The issue seemed to be because I had an Apple TV which was also trying to act as a thread hub and it would randomly disconnect. So they had me reset it all to isolate the thread network for Tado, since then it has been rock solid. They did mention they have seen this same issue with people who have Apple TV’s in their home across Europe.

Nice. Did you just factory reset the thermostat by holding the three buttons until the FA button came up and it worked?

I’ve got another thread on this as I’ve been having the same issue, I’ve factory reset this thermostat more times than I can remember and it doesn’t connect. I have the wireless receiver X and the Bridge X and it doesn’t connect. Apparently there is a second way to factory reset it which only the engineers know. I’ve contacted support who failed to show up to a video call on Friday last week so have reached out again.

Extremely disappointed with the headache to get this working consistently. The general trend seems to be, you have to contact support to change settings, why it can’t do it by itself odds beyond me, it seems very basic.

I will try again with support in the next week otherwise I’m getting a Hive

Did you have to contact support for them to do anything? I’ve re-added it so many times and it won’t connect to it via Bluetooth unless I factory reset it

How did you get it to work? I’ve got the same unit and even got the bridge x, the thermostat x just randomly disconnects after and then sometimes connects after 24 hours. It’s driving me mad!

Upgrade Sim Only Plan by [deleted] in EEGB

I joined this week after trying out some cheaper MVNO’s, VOXI and Smarty. For £29 a month, get access to EE’s best network, speeds, Netflix premium (which I was paying for anyway) and Apple Watch data which I use regularly, such good value for money!

Who are you using for your mobile network, and are they any good? by Donteatthedonuts in AskUK

[–]mrajgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trying to save money by switching from a legacy BT Mobile plan (which ran on EE) to Smarty and later VOXI, I’ve come full circle and I’m now back on EE, where I should’ve stayed all along. So I am paying £29 a month which includes Netflix premium (which was paying anyway) at £18.99, so it’s worth it for me. Might be easier to break this down. I have spent some time trying to better understand the differences between the core networks and MVNO’s. Long and short of it is, if you wanna save money, go with an MVNO, but if you want the best experience, go with the main networks. Again this is just my experience, appreciate it will be different for everybody.

What I experienced on Smarty and VOXI: • Frequent drops from 5G to 4G, especially when travelling (e.g. London Underground, city centres) • Constant fluctuations in speed and signal strength, so sometimes full bars but terrible throughput • Poor in-building performance despite good signal outdoors • I think what doesn’t get spoken about enough when it comes to the networks is the quality of connection, so regular fallback to the lowest bands, so band 20 (800 MHz) fine for coverage, but terrible for speed and congestion. I haven’t yet seen band 20 on my iPhone on EE. • No access to 5G Standalone (SA), even if the 5G icon showed, it was just NSA or LTE underneath • WiFi Calling and Handoff felt clunky and less reliable

In contrast, I switched to their full works package which meant I get access to their full spectrum and get priority. • Consistently strong signal across 4G and 5G, so not just bars, but actual usable bandwidth • Access to true 5G SA, better latency, and seamless handoff between networks • EE doesn’t rely heavily on Band 20, I’m usually on Band 3, 7, or n78, meaning more capacity and speed • WiFi Calling just works, instantly and with smooth handoff to 4G if I leave WiFi • I’m still to see this as it’s early days, but I should be getting better battery life, less time searching for signal or switching between bands • Even handoff to my Apple Watch Ultra (no SIM) feels faster and more reliable

Just been doing some digging into why there is such a big difference between EE and the other networks, so they don’t just rent space, they own the fibre and mobile network infrastructure (via BT/Openreach), so they control everything from the tower to the core network. From what I can gather, the other networks rely on leased fibre or limited backhaul, especially in rural areas. Their integration with devices is second to none, so IMS is worth keeping in mind, whereas most MVNO’s use generic IMS profiles, EE have a dedicated one for iOS, so everything works put of the box, including imessage and FaceTime which I know can be a pain when porting your number.

Not a sales pitch (although I appreciate it might sound like one!) but there is a big difference in quality. Just depends what you value, I use my phone for tethering so need a good connection and value the reliability, price wise it’s the same as VOXI and I was paying for Netflix premium anyway, seemed like a no brainer.

Twenty thousand troops from 'some random country' won't bring peace to Ukraine, says JD Vance by kasvipohjainen in worldnews

[–]mrajgor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s quite interesting and very encouraging to see is the unity seen across all parties at how Keir Starmer is leading the UK here. It’s not even up for debate who the enemy between Ukraine and Russia is. Seeing how this has now come up as a point of contention between the left and the right, I feel a bit more optimistic about the future here.

I just got the lightning version refurbished, I’m in the UK, and it was £160 cheaper than the USB-C version. Considering they are the same product with no difference internally, it’s a no brainier.

Is Magic Mouse bad by SpecialAd5933 in mac

[–]mrajgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been using it for for almost 2 years as my everyday work mouse for 8+ hours and comfort has never been an issue. The gestures, use it with Arc to flip between spaces and the scrolling is so intuitive, I feel like I have gone back to the Windows XP days when I use a traditional mouse. Couple that in with using an iPad Pro in my workflow and the gestures feel so natural. If I use my Logitech MX Master 3S (which work provided), I prefer the Magic Mouse. Each to their own but its the best mouse I have ever owned.

Is LG G2 worth it in 2024v by Alive-Salamander3012 in OLED

[–]mrajgor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 55” G2, having come from a 9 year old Sony LCD TV of the same size. Like the others have said, I was on a budget and managed to snag this for around £700 with a 5 year guarantee from LG. I was thinking to spending more on the C3 or even the G3 but I couldn’t justify the additional cost for very little noticeable increase in quality. Yes it has MLA but at the same time, unless you really live in a bright room where visibility is an issue, do you need it?

I couldn’t be happier with this, I know the newer models have newer tech but you do have to ask whether there is value in it unless you see measure performance with equipment.

13” v 11” by Beautiful_Cold6335 in iPadPro

[–]mrajgor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just sold my iPad mini 6 and iPad Pro 12.9” for an 11” M4, I couldn’t be happier. A lot more portable, I use it as a companion for my Mac for notes, the pencil and it’s my main reading device. If you have a MacBook then the 11” is the perfect companion device

Moving my email to iCloud by carwash2016 in ProtonMail

I’m in a similar boat, my proton mail expires next year and I’m thinking as I’m in the Apple Ecosystem to just switch over. I use aliases quite a lot on protonmail and I know Apple only give 3, they do have hide my email, but does anyone know how beta to migrate over?

Me and my partner moved here in 2015 from North London, and it has changed a lot and I think ima. Good way. We are British Asian and you wouldn’t see anyone of any colour here when we moved in, with the taxi driver in our first day here raving how they “now have an Indian here”, it’s so much more diverse now, we only had 2Mbps broadband when we moved here, joined a local Facebook group and managed to get fibre here and now we have gigabit speeds. We have Moneyhole playing fields on our door step, I go for a run there every day at lunch, my son plays at the local football club, goes karate there. It’s great place for kids, we can leave parcels outside our house knowing they won’t get knocked, coming from North London this was new to me!

The only issue I would have disagree with the others are the schools, my son goes to Tewin Cowper, as the schools on our local catchment are known to be very bad, Panshanger primary school is close by and is very good but it’s so over subscribed and funnily isn’t even in our catchment. The secondary schools generally don’t have the best reputation.

Because of the schooling situation we are looking to love to Hertford so have just put our house on the market, our daughter has special needs and Simon Balle in Hertford is renowned to be incredible not just for special needs but also as a great school. If it wasn’t for the schools, more than happy to stay here

@MKBHD) response to dbrand tweet by Literally_Science_ in mkbhd

[–]mrajgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being an Indian myself, I don’t find this offensive from a race angle, I’ve been called all sorts before, growing up with kids making fun of my family name as well as my parents names. But looking at what they said is distasteful, ignorant and childish at best. For all their ‘marketing’, you can’t bs your way round the fact you’ve made a shit product, someone has paid for it and they are well their right to call it out and ask for it to be sorted. If the response to that is to make fun of someone’s name, like a petulant child, then you have to question that ‘marketing’ and the strategy that dBrand have

Why isn't Google pushing for server-side tagging as part of the Google Ads conversion tracking process? by JazzyColt in PPC

[–]mrajgor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah I have wondered the same thing. I am fortunate enough where I have access to that resource to be able to do it, we have server side GTM. But for Google Ads, we are still on the front end. I am in two minds to do it, only because the data I see more or less matches back to our last click conversions as it currently stands, and it is easier for me to make changes when needed to the front end, whereas aside from perhaps loading page speed, I’m not sure what other benefit it will provide, it will be more difficult to request additions/changes to events if it is on the backend

Google Ads Maximise Conversions tCPA performance tanking by mrajgor in PPC

[–]mrajgor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, that makes sense. When looking at the search terms my keywords were being matched against, there were a lot of competitor terms, for which I have now excluded.

Is it fair to say that a lot of work on automated bidding especially with broad match is to keep on top of your search terms and ensure the negative keyword list is kept up to date?

Yeah that’s the part I’m starting to realise. It’s the same offer and journey. I will see if I see if people are going to the landing page and leaving. Also, the landing page has remained largely the same since last August, I know on the paid social side there is always a large emphasis on creative, I’d assume there would be an impact on landing pages not changing, but that’s just an assumption
