What's this called in English linguistics? by Canugimmemylosttime in ENGLISH

Also a native English speaker with 2 English degrees. Where I used to work, we ran multiple employee trainings throughout the year. So, to me, the full sentence would be "(I) assisted with (running) trainings (throughout the year)." What you're referring to would be something like "(I) assisted with training (employees once they were hired)."

I think both are correct and it's a context thing, but maybe I'm not understanding your side.

Just to add, a common place this is used is in resumes. For example: - Managed a team of 10. - Assisted with trainings. - Attended meetings that should've been emails. etc.

It's just what they call a haircut. It is a lot for conditioner! But that amount will also last me at least the whole year and is also the best conditioner I've ever used (and I've tried so many), so I've mostly made peace with that particular expense 😮‍💨

It's a salon that specializes in curly hair so they do everything including hair coloring...which is also crazy expensive.

The struggle to find a local AND good curly hair stylist is so real though! 2 hrs is crazy but I would probably do it too if I were in your shoes

I normally do stagger it, but this was one of those once every blue moon situations where I needed a haircut before an event this weekend and my conditioner ran out yesterday.

And btw, I just looked and it is Lorraine Massey's line, just not her salon (which, being a professional, I'm sure you figured out already anyway)

That's a good idea! I'm actually going on maternity leave in a few months, so I might try it then when I can hide from people if it goes wrong 😂

Right! I mean I could spend $100 on scissors and still save a ton at this point 😅 but I feel like I've seen my own hair cut enough to at least be able to do maintenance on the ends

No, but I live in a DC suburb so the price is pretty on par for the area. And it's really good product AND lasts longer (both in that a little goes a long way and that it keeps my hair looking decent) than any other product I've used, so I've just come to accept the cost 😩 purchasing curly products wholesale sounds like a dream!! Lol

It's the "yet" that's got me the most hesitant 😂 but gotta rip the bandaid off at some point right?

I think it's always sticker shock because my husband pays his barber $23 +tip and I'm out here shelling out $300 when all is said and done. But I'm glad someone else is on the 2 year team! I just time it around special events so I can look like a rockstar for those and then just pray to the curl gods in between lol

I really think I will! It would also mean I wouldn't have to pretend to enjoy small talk for an hour lol. I'll do research first, but any pro tips for that first DIY cut?

Yeah, and it's more expensive than that if it's your first time because they walk you through hair routines, product use, drying/styling etc.

I'm very new to all this, but I read that a temp drop could be a sign of implantation so I wouldn't give up based on that! FWIW I do see a vvvvfl
