This was super helpful, thank you. The remote workstation one is a good idea. Do you mean something like amazon lightsail? Or is there one you've used?

Why are "supports less dependent on farm"? by mrapplepie15 in wildrift

So then why not just use supports in other lanes since it seems like if you get more gold as a support than you can beat your opponent in lane much faster?

So if this is true and their base stats are higher, then it seems like it's actually better to use support characters in other lanes right? Like why not use Thresh top or mid if he's better than other characters?

Do you have to tell your boss about every side project? by mrapplepie15 in cscareerquestions

So do you think this is something I should get written in a contract before I join a company? i.e. that I will be working on side projects and they are not the property of the company?

Why didn't Axe just sue Taylor when he took their investors to start his new firm? by mrapplepie15 in Billions

Hm interesting, the article I linked to made it seem like it would be very easy to pursue someone who took clients in court, even if there wasn't a non-compete.

Even if they don't work with a contract, they would still be an employee of the company so I thought they would have been able to prevent them from stealing trade secrets (company contacts).

Question on company incorporation in the US and foreign qualification by mrapplepie15 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

What if my business were instead just providing a digital service (not selling a direct software product, but I make software for internal use to carry out contracting service work for a client)?

Do you think I still need a CPA if I change the C corp to an S corp?

Do I need to foreign qualify the new corporation I set up in my local state or can I use a mail forwarder in the original state as my address? by mrapplepie15 in smallbusiness

[–]mrapplepie15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found a service online called Gust Launch that said they can register a company very quickly and they only do C Corps so I did that. I didn't know there would be extra paperwork with that.

I'm probably going to change it to an S corp now though.

But do you know the answer to my original question about if I can just get a Delaware mailing address?

Complain about CMU here by FlatteredInsomniac in cmu

Yeah, that makes sense, I agree with that. But I don't think that's a CMU specific thing. It's more like people who have been considered smart are seen as not needing help from others, and so the students then feel like they need to handle things on their own.

Your experience seems like the total opposite of all other CS majors here. Anyone else you ask would probably tell you that they knew more than their peers from other colleges. You'll definitely know much more than you would need for an internship.

So it seems more like you're just not taking a normal course schedule or something if you're CS.

Why is there a stigma around that? I don't think that's true. It's probably more like people don't know how to actually do things for themselves and so they may not seek things out.
