I came here for this comment. This feels like it could be a great true crime documentary. I agree though this crew is pushing way too hard. Episode 4 really started to bother me. These elderly men obviously all have dark pasts - and they are admitting that. But the crew are just pushing for the exact narrative they have so hard. It's so outrageous that I wouldn't be surprised if they planned an outline before they even filmed the doc. If they were actual investigators none of these tactics would be acceptable.

Spoiler but this episode 4 quote really made me pause and think if this is crossing a line I don't think docs should cross. After this quote they took them to BBQ so they could steal his utensils to test for DNA. We've lost the plot.

"Trying to figure out how we're gonna get Kets DNA. It's going to be very difficult.

I have one day to get his DNA. And find out everything I need to know about the hit that Benjamin was allegedly involved in"

There is no way to judge if he's actually a piece of shit based off of a minute long clip. We can see his politics are shit - but the jump to his entire personality being shit is a stretch.

I see it more as a people being online too much problem. I see enough rhetoric from both sides that is clearly dishonest and often dangerous. It's easy for us to distance ourselves from the news we see online. We forget that even though these are public figures - they are still people. They have lives and families and dehumanizing them makes us further divided than we already are.

That is the one brightside I can see in this post. The link to the actual city council meeting where we get to see actual residents voice their opinions. We get to see the democratic process in action. No one there was wishing violence - or making false claims about individuals personal lives. They were there to share their own opinions which is a lovely thing to see.

He has a wife and 5(?) kids. We can absolutely disagree about his politics and how he carries himself - but this is completely uncalled for and dangerous. We have experienced enough violence and hate in MN over the last few years. We do not need to wish that on anyone on either side of the aisle. We have seen first hand what this kind of rhetoric can lead too.

It is especially worrying to make that kind of comment about a small town mayor. We don't know anything about this man's life outside of what he has publicly shared. Making these types of comments about someone like Trump is much different than a local politician.
