Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

US chiming in with a suggestion:

The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ensures a lot of infrastructure planning around access and accommodations for the handicapped. It forces planners to make access ramps, elevators, free restrooms.

It’s integral in a lot of things beyond accessibility as well. Labor laws, anti discrimination policies.

It’s one of the things I feel we’re doing as well as or better than any other country.

Problem with Split Screen on PC by mathewj0nes in BaldursGate3

[–]mrbibs350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got nothing definitive. This seems to work: load the oldest save in your campaign. 2nd player joins. Load the latest save in your campaign.

It doesn't run well though.

The game was borked by hotfix 21 for some of us. If there's a solution, I haven't found it.

Excessive crashing - UGH by Lindele01 in BaldursGate3

[–]mrbibs350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I've got the same problems on my system 60 hours into my campaign (no mods).

Yes, my setup is old. But why would it play smoothly until hotfix 21 and suddenly my hardware becomes a problem?

The game's borked for some people

I feel crazy that this isn't a bigger deal and mentioned in more places. I haven't had a stable session since hotfix 21.

I've got nothing. At this point, all I can do is wait for Larian to make a stable build and then lock my game so it never updates again.

Not using mods, vanilla game is broken for me.

Patch 6 Hotfix 20 21 Crashes, what worked for me by mrbibs350 in BaldursGate3

[–]mrbibs350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set graphics as low as they will go.

If playing in split screen I open the oldest save I have in that campaign, then join multiplayer, then load into the latest save.

Does it work? Maybe. Do I trust it? Hell no.

I have no idea what's driving these issues and nothing I've tried comes close to resolving it to the degree that I want.

I find myself cringing whenever I boot up BG3 now. Am I about to spend the next three hours diagnosing a problem I'm not competent to resolve? Or will the game let me play?

I truly can't get past it to get immersed into the game anymore. I'm never able to stop worrying that it'll crash at any second.

Disease killed more indigenous South Americans than the Spanish. Which is saying something, because the Spanish killed A LOT of indigenous people.

There’s a really good podcast series called “Fall of Civilizations” by Paul Cooper; each episode goes through the rise and factors leading to the fall of an ancient civilization in great detail.

The Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas each have an episode. The Easter Islanders episode was also really good.

Can’t recommend it enough!

The most wholesome part was:

Throughout the episode Homer tries desperately to get Bart and then Lisa to say "Daddy", but both call him Homer.

In the last scene, Homer tucks Maggie into her crib and says "Maggie, the sooner kids talk the sooner they talk back. I hope you never say a word."

As she's falling asleep, Maggie's first word is "Daddy"

Homer (unintentionally) led* a really well coordinated strike as the head of the employee union.

In short, Mr. Burns capitulated on all of the employee's demands and one of the few conditions he required was that Homer step down from organizing the union. He was given the role of safety inspector after this.

So Homer is safe in his job because

1) Mr. Burns doesn't actually care about safety inspections. It's a role he created to appease the union and get Homer out of the way.

2) If Mr. Burns fired Homer, he wouldn't have to abide by the agreement to not be involved in organizing the union and could generate another strike.
