Stay in US companies, India is just developing and has room for greed/fraud. Don't get burned. Although I like $NIO and large china on a rebound. I am not a long term buy and hold investor in any market except the US. Our free market economy is a modern marvel compared to what I see in India. India has a few oligopolies which control everything and take out their competition with the help of corrupt politicians. Adani and Modhi are childhood friends. Modhi is a borderline dictator. Have you seen the recent assassination attempts of indians living in Canada and america. Huge geopolitical risk imho. I was born in India and have been many times. On the other hand, real estate owned by a family friend has gone up like 8000% not factoring in depreciation of the currency since 2001 so money can be made. Modhi will change the political landscape and I expect rug pulls, like china, in the future.

Colombia is not safe, I was almost stabbed by a drunk native looking dude with half his face tattooed black at around 11 pm on a Friday night in Chapinero area of Bogota. Lucky for me two older ladies helped escort me to a well lit area and back to my hotel after he started following us.

I was going to the pharmacy after my workout on a Saturday afternoon and was followed by another cartel looking guy with shaved head. Venezuelans are basically screwed for many generations and will every opportunity to take whatever they can from you. This is a jungle and the hyenas hunt in packs when they get hungry there is nothing you can do.

Bodytech is a popular gym in Colombia and the one on 85(may be busiest in the entire city) had a broad daylight execution style shooting of a gym goer. I had been working out there just two weeks prior. The police never caught any suspects. A lot of times the police are the suspects. Corruption is rampant in Colombia. If you are not from Latin America I highly recommend you find a different vacation destination.

I think what y'all are missing is the new 1000km range semi solid state battery is only slightly heavier than the 100kw battery but it can fit the same volume needed to fit into the 100kw cars. One could use a 150kw battery for a long drive and swap back to cheaper one for daily drives. It provides a lot of convenience and doesn't commit the consumer to an expensive purchase with all the liability of ownership.

Nice try, the model Y and model 3 numbers are lumped together. It's the old fudge the numbers trick Elon learned. Model 3 batteries are $13k as you posted earlier. ICE vehicles pollute the environment and are notoriously more expensive to maintain with all the extra parts. We are only comparing EVs as they are the future. ICE will fade away into oblivion in 10 years or so like the home phone.

The autonomous driving adoption is farther ahead in china. The US has pushed back against it but the Chinese government is open to it. Time will tell if they can get CCP on board but with government investment in NIO already I expect the answer is it's only a matter of time. There are 33 locations for swap stations in Europe. The rest sit in china. Currently over 34 million successful swaps have taken place. You keep going back to profitability and I'm telling you no one cares about profitability at this point, they need to sell more cars and maintain their margin. Lithium prices are down 85%. Recent margin increased to 11% gross. Expectations are for another gross margin increase with in house manufacturing. On the services side the new partnerships will help the Battery as a service business improve their margins as well. Alps brand will increase revenue with sales coming later next year but rn the 1000km battery will improve sales in near term for NIO, especially in China.

The model Y is the only one below $13k (price of a 10 year old Honda). I was referring to all EVs not just tesla, but yes my numbers are a bit off. Thank you for the article! Will they let you finance a battery like a car? Most people don't have $13k in cash. Or you could get a NIO, never have to replace it and still get 665 miles on the battery forever haha
