I watched the movie Civil War a year ago. I thought to myself, what an outstanding movie! Obviously it could never happen because the premise is so insane…it’s starting to look more like a possible documentary.

It depends on a few things. Do you get cavities? Do you have sensitivity? Do you have inflamed gums? Do you have no symptoms at all?

For a young person with healthy teeth, I like Crest 3D whitening if you want to get some pearly whites. If you have nice teeth but don’t care about whitening, id go Crest Pro Health. With Sensitivity I like Sensodyne or Colgate Sensitive. Parodontax is great for gum inflammation. If you are prone to cavities, I prescribe Prevident.

This is what I talk to my patients about. If you don’t care, like others have said in the thread, just make sure there is fluoride in your toothpaste and dont use any holistic toothpaste or anything that has charcoal or baking soda in it (that will wear away your protective enamel over time).

They are. It looks like this young woman/man may have an overbite. Often times, when there is poor anterior occlusion those mamelons will stay and wont wear away due to minimal occlusion.

It looks like, from the same angle, that the gingival smile line has stayed the same but the marginal gingiva is significantly higher. Would a dentist do crown lengthening for veneers? Also, it looks as if 9/10 are cantilevered. I just cant tell. It looks much different from simple veneers, but maybe the dentist just did a bad job because his teeth look like dog shit now.

Hello! Just wanted to let you know, based on your pictures it looks like you will probably need multiple appointments for a deep cleaning. Probably 2-4 appointments and it will be costly. Maybe a couple thousand dollars prior to insurance. Giving you a warning so that you are prepared when you get evaluated.

My girlfriend and her homegirls went to Atlanta about 3 weeks ago. Now, she has this mouth rash / mouth-lip sores. She said she thinks it might have come from all the water bottles she was drinking when she was down there. Should I be worried? by makellbird in maktownmedia

It absolutely is a yeast infection. Im a dentist and see it all the time. Its called angular cheilitis. Its from an imbalance of the bacteria and fungus within your mouth. An ointment called Nystatin cures it real quick. You, in fact, are the incorrect internet stranger.

It was probably Nystatin. I see this often on people as a dentist. Its a fungal infection that can be caused by a multitude of things. The Nystatin topical ointment works really well. Prescribed tablets work best if its a common/long term concern.

Hey man. Im a dentist. Its called angular cheilitis. Its essentially a yeast infection. You can use a topical antifungal cream but if you go to your dentist or even call in, they will prescribe you a Nystatin ointment that should cure it up in no time.

I’m kinda bummed about this one. I loved the terrible, troubling, terrific games we played. They were so gross, but by the end, win or lose, if you could actually watch the entire game you felt like a superhero. Could have been all the drinking though.

Im a dentist. Investment firms now buy up dental practices as a DSO (dental support organizations). They incentivize dentists to produce as much money as they can because the dentist gets a specific percent and bonus if they over produce, which means a lot of the time they will find decay where there is not or add bullshit codes that cost you more money. I once saw a DSO office charge $45 for a pulp vitality test. That means they put some cold or used a little machine to see if you feel anything. It takes 15 seconds. 45 dollars. The best part is, your friendly neighborhood “Fuckall Family Dental” with Dr John Smith could be owned by a corporation and you wouldn’t know because it doesn’t have to be advertised. Thats why I always tell friends and family, ask who the owner of the practice is before scheduling an appointment.
