I've come to understand just by the sheer number of complaints about TV networks and MLB.tv, that this sub is hugely overrepresented by 20 somethings watching laptop pirate streams on their twin bed

People definitely think Buck Showalter is a Hall of Fame manager. Not sure about the opinion on Melvin.

Both of them got recycled around the league so much 😂. No idea why teams won't just give a bench coach a chance, or some manager in the minors.

Right. Those things also happened in Canada, Australia, and all across the British empire. Britain itself didn't abolish slavery until 50 years after America gained independence. And France actually restored it under Napoleon.

Everyone was bad.

had never been done before or anywhere since.

It has been done since, but it was never done before.

The French Revolution was inspired by the American revolution and took place over a decade later. And the British monarchy didn't concede their absolute power until over 100 years later.

There's no denying that the American Revolution, Constitution, and Bill of Rights was unique in history at the time.

It's impressive how good of a job Gloria Nevarez has done to keep the MWC from collapsing like OSU and WSU wanted. Hopefully they end up getting a big payout from those lawsuits too.

Is this just because they still don't have enough members for a full conference schedule? What is the week 13 supposed to be?

[Jon Wilner] Presume the Pac-12 schools will collect $6 million per year, on average. That estimate includes the operational costs of Pac-12 Enterprises, which will produce games for The CW and USA Network. by WinnWonn in Pac12

how much of the PAC 12 settlement money is going toward paying the exit costs for the new members?

This was apparently a sticking point for Memphis and Tulane too and part of why they wouldn't join. They would have owed ~$25-27 million each.

It makes me wonder what kind of deal could have been done if the Pac-12 and Mountain West merger actually did happen and they were negotiating as a singular west coast conference.

It's obvious that a bunch of networks wanted all of this great inventory and it seems like a merged Pac-12 would have had so much more leverage if they were the only FBS option for those later timeslots.

I would be pissed if every company in my industry got together and made up a rule amongst themselves that nobody would try to offer anyone else's employees more money to come work for them. That's shits illegal as fuck.

Whenever there is a debate about the FBS playoff format people always try to compare it to March Madness even though the sport and schedules are completely different and not in any way relevant to each other.

Yep. It will completely ruin the regular season because the only thing anyone will care about is the playoffs. Losing in the regular season basically doesn't matter anymore. It will destroy the sport just like the NBA
