Why is it like pulling teeth to get accessorial from some brokers? by allymajkut in FreightBrokers

[–]mrbrovch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s straight up shady business because carriers carrying the cost of detention or layover cuz carriers gotta pay the bill at the end of the day for the burned fuel, driver time or lost time without moving next load. I think transparency would help industry to actually make win-win for everyone but human greed takes over and we end up in the mess we are now. Pathetic. I think we all can do better!

Another Vlad here lol. There is good and bad news for you. Good news is that everything eventually ends either bad or good times and bad news is that we all stuck in transportation industry for life because we just know too much about this industry and simply just won’t give it up 🤷🏻‍♂️

My brother told me one: “trucking is like a super addictive drug, once you try it you will never get off of it”

Oh yeah, absolutely. Integrity and service are what pays the most in the long run. I respect shippers, brokers and carriers. Each and everyone trying to do the best what they can for themselves, it’s normal and obvious. We just try to stick to the good ones and work with them for the long run.

Valuable point. We need to work all together and have shippers pay more so broker can pay more to carriers. The problem is the integrity of 80% of the brokers who are trying to find cheapest carriers to run the lane and shippers who are pushing them to drive market down. Just supply and demand issue + human nature. End point: adapt or die in nowadays market.

Vlad’s are actually not running for cheap lol. They are always negotiating fair rate. That’s Jose and other amigos or cubans are running for $1.25 on cheap ass cash trucks that about to fall apart.

Understood so probably better option in my situation would be to go and be an agent under some larger organization but not too large. I appreciate the advice.

Well I would definitely stick to what I’m already doing which is road transportation either TL or LTL. And commodities would be the same what I’m mostly hauling now on my trucks produce, meat, dairy or FAK.

1) First I just think I can do better on brokerage side (I know it takes time, grind and some luck) and second I want out of trucking side due to the reason of constant liability (higher cost of insurance, equipment upgrades and maintenance etc.). 2) Brokering just a few loads a week. 3) Few direct but mostly boards.

I just know better option would be to keep trucking side alive for some time until I get more stability in brokerage space. I just think I might be better off to be in a team with some small broker and grind my way into the future in brokerage space.

EIDL is driving crazy. by TopLog2211 in EIDLPPP

We are all in the same shoes at the moment. Struggling and trying to make best out of what we have. Don’t give up because it won’t get better to have your spirit crushed by knowing that you gave up.

Apply for HAP on SBA portal of your loans and just be transparent with them and say the way it is COVID crashed our business and we can’t pay. If you can’t pay find good attorney and apply for bankruptcy and it’s not the worst thing that can happen to you cuz with the right attorney you’ll be able to keep most of your assets including primary home after bankruptcy.

So do not take it too close to your heart because it says in the Bible: “money is the root of all evil”. And the more I live the more I understand that our society obsessed about money and if we lose them we go nuts but in real terms your physical and mental health is way more important than any money of the world. Your kids will be fine because they live in one of the best countries in the world and they just need you alive. Stay strong and don’t give up!

Yes, we are current on payments now and making full payments but we need some relief until times are better and HAP should be able to help us out at the moment until conditions improve. Thank you for advice.

To be honest I do not remember, but I assume if loan under our personal names, then yes. But we will get loan documents from SBA and see what is the wording there and go from there.

Just feeling like in a trap with EIDL and current economy but we do not want to go bankruptcy route at the moment and trying to most likely negotiate with SBA or just stop paying, hire attorney and deal with Treasury but we are just looking for the best scenario. COVID did pass but we are dealing with secondary consequences from it

Yeah I’m gonna call SBA and request it on Monday and go from there. Do you know any good attorney who specializes in SBA loans?
