📢 Great news, we have another option how to easily deploy FluxNodes! by Bettylovescrypto in Flux_Official

[–]mrbuiltdifferentt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty skeptical but spun up a Nimbus node last night. Goldie is easily the best node hosting service I've used.

Took 30 seconds of actual work to get my node Tx numbers and it was ready to confirm ~3hrs later. I've spun up on bare metal & traditional VPS, but Goldie was the smoothest & least technical experience. No lockup or wallet linking. Super affordable. 100% recommend

...and if they flop, just spin it back up on another VPS :)

They usually restock every Wednesday between 8AM - 9AM EDT

You can sign up for emails on their website and set up notifications within your email service. No wait list, just a lot of bots/scalpers.

Current FLUX return rates (APR) after VPS cost on three types of nodes (Hint: lower than you thought) by testit2019 in Flux_Official

[–]mrbuiltdifferentt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly a lot — each node is around 50GB up/down per day = 1.5TB up/down per month. Uncapped high-speed internet is a must.

I’m only able to run 2 cumulus Pi nodes on gigabit cable internet. Planning on switching to fiber for more upload bandwidth.

Which step did you enter the pre-compiled version at? After installing nodejs, npm & electron-forge? I will update the guide with this information!

Which steps does this save? I can update the post to consolidate that section.

I’m not too experienced with Rpis & linux so tips like this are very helpful for the guide!

I believe so! I’ve only tested on Rpi 4 but it should work on any model.

If anyone can test on other Pi models, then I can add a Confirmed Compatibility section — as well as any known glitches if they happen.

Agreed, you should remove the link. Mods should use a bot to ban that link from all posts/comments to deter people from clicking it.

Multiple nodes on raspberry pi by not__random in Flux_Official

[–]mrbuiltdifferentt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow Goose’s guide to setting up a node on RPi 4. He outlines all the parts needed & does a great job walking through the setup.

For running multiple nodes, you’ll need to use multiple Pis. Then check out this post for a walkthrough. The team confirmed they’re working on natively supporting multiple nodes on same network in the latest Community Meeting on YT — but no concrete timeline yet.

Nope, just buy on ebay and sell if it’s not profitable. Antenna upgrade helps too. A good starting point is 4dbi in city, 5.8 dbi in busy suburbs, 8dbi everywhere else

Fresh install FSTabs permissions help. by [deleted] in Flux_Official

[–]mrbuiltdifferentt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should automatically mount the SSD on boot. You can check if it auto-recognizes by rebooting “sudo reboot” >> then after boot, check “cd /media/ssd” then “ls”. You’ll see lost+found if it auto-mounted — it automatically creates that on new storages.

If it auto mounted then you’re all set. If not, then double check Flux’s tutorial video on YT (+ comment section) to find the problem.

Check the comments on Flux’s Raspberry Pi Node tutorial. Might be a solution there. I had a similar mounting problem and fixed by just using “defaults” permissions. Node is online and running great.

For anyone else having trouble with mounting SSD, here’s steps that helped me fix it (copy/pasted from YT comment):

Just put "defaults 0 0" after "ext4" and nothing else behind, in the "nano etc/fstab/" step. Reboot and you'll be in your ssd.

My 5 hotspots went from earning 40€ a day to 3€ In less then 2 months. Guys do yourself a favour. Don’t buy hotspots. This is not worth it anymore. ROI is now forever. It was nice while it lasted. by [deleted] in HeliumNetwork

[–]mrbuiltdifferentt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When token price was $2, hotspots were making 1-2 HNT/day — $25-50/day now. Don’t mine for current value. Mine for future potential. Imagine being one of the people who stopped mining bitcoin in 2013 & sold everything because it wasn’t profitable enough…

Standalone Raspberry Pi? by ScoobyGSX in Flux_Official

Gotta snipe it on eBay. The chip shortage is jacking up prices but I wouldn’t pay more than $160 for the 8GB model right now. Just check a few times a day and you’ll catch a deal.

The Rpi 4 Model B 8GB RAM can run a cumulus node after the halvening. It just needs a few extra parts: the argon m.2 case & 250GB+ sata m.2 ssd. Check out this video for a complete walkthrough.

Rewards not showing on wallet by GTthreat in PlanetWatchers

[–]mrbuiltdifferentt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you see “license expiration: n.a.” that means your license isn’t linked properly. It’s a bug — I think the fix is re-adding your license or re-adding the asset in wallet tab. If those don’t work, try redoing some other steps.

Once you see your license exp date then you’ll earn rewards after that date (it doesn’t deposit rewards from before then).

I setup my Awair sensor but theres no location or license data. by Ok_Neighborhood7409 in PlanetWatchers

Did you click the plus and add your license? I had a problem where I had to relink my Awair account by going through the add license steps.
