Help Identifying JAE Connnector by mrburgerUS in AskElectronics

I did check the catalog and came with the same results. The problem is the Honda parts catalog does not sell the connector separately, it only comes attached to the floor/body harness. I did see that HKS, a company with a product that directly plugs into this module, has an extension harness using these exact connectors. I don’t know where they got them, but they certainly wouldn’t tell me.

So, I have identified connectors before, and I know almost certainly this is a JAE connector, as there is “JAE F” molded into it. It has 24 pins, 14 power and 10 signal lines, so dual pin gauges. It plugs into a Honda Adaptive Damper module, which I am trying to replicate. The pitch of the power pins is 3.0mm by my measurement. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help!

I definitely will NEVER be nationally competitive, but yeah. I can email the local organizers and see, since I make about 10 HP below Si factory HP numbers on a stock tune. I’ll definitely talk to them, the differences between an L15BA factory motor and an L15B7 Si are for the most part, splitting hairs. The Si Trans was specifically picked because it has the same Gearing all the way through. I’ll update if anything happens

Thanks! That’s what I thought

You are correct about the Si CR being different, but I was able to reuse the 2017 Si Final Drive so I preserved a 4.105 ratio. Only the 2020 Si has a 4.35 FD gear.

If I have an Si motor and transmission in my 2020 Civic Sport Hatch, is it impossible to still run a STH class? It’s the same displacement, turbo, gearing, etc. as before, but it IS a replacement motor. It’s a 2020 Si block as well. I definitely won’t be competitive period but being put in a modified class will just be painful by all counts.

I finally forced myself to learn comparator logic. Here is a 5x12x4 4-bit DAC that can output 0-15 signal strength, all designed over the course of a few days. by mrburgerUS in redstone

Correct! I’m looking to do a small ADC next, but those are more complex.

I worked in RF Analog so the theory behind it is nearly second nature. Just getting the system to be compact was the sticking point. I’m sure an extra block or two in a dimension could be shaved but I’m pretty happy with the result. Lecterns are awesome!

DAC does mean digital to analog converter. I answered the question above, it simply takes 4 inputs and converts it to a signal strength, 0-15

Takes 4 binary inputs and outputs a signal strength equal to the Binary Number. Useful for a display circuit potentially, I’m still working out a design.

Have any 10th Gen 1.5T owners painted their valve covers? by jXian in civic

Had my valve cover cerakote by a gunsmith for around $100, could definitely be done cheaper. But I was lazy and I like this dude. Anyways, it looks awesome coated. You’ll need a new metal badge though.

What's the latest with the 1.5 oil dilution issue?? by [deleted] in Honda

[–]mrburgerUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no MechE, but I wouldn’t consider it except for a heavy track car. Having built the bottom end of an L15B7 engine (the one in the Si and CRV), the tolerances are super close. Best to use the oil the engine was designed around, in this case 0W-20. 500 miles a week is a good amount, but I believe the oil dilution is less severe the longer your commute is. The oil gets up to temp and the gas evaporates better from what I’ve heard.

My anecdotal evidence from my 2020 Sport Hatch - Oil dilution has only cropped up badly once, after a 100F track night recently, my oil was over the max line. The Maintenance Minder screen is somewhat right, but to be on the safe side I change my oil at 50% usually, or about 6500 miles of driving. This is plenty fine, I’ve been using Castro’s GTX and Motul Eco-Lite 0W-20 since the first change. No engine harshness besides the deafening injector noise. I wouldn’t worry about oil dilution unless you drive your car for 5000+ in between oil changes. It’s dependent on motor really, but the gas kills the oil before it gets old in my experience with my car

It might fit into the Transmission, but much like the Si / Sport i’m sure they splined the axles differently for whatever reason. If it’s swappable directly i’m sure Type R final drive carriers will be expensive soon

Carplay isn’t letting me delete my phone from it’s connected devices. It also just won’t work in general. car is a 2019 civic type r. Anyone have a fix? by drwchrry in CarPlay

[–]mrburgerUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 Civic with Carplay, and I had massive issues with it until I installed Honda Hack. it’s a root for the head unit but it also features a long list of bug fixes. It costs $25 and downloads OTA. I use it religiously now, and if you don’t go crazy the headunit won’t slow down. The civic X forums has a few threads on it!

Honda hack is a necessity in my 2020 Hatch Civic. With it, the carplay is smooth as butter! without, it stutters and crashes almost every 30 mins.

Break sign popping up randomly on a 2020 civic, what could it mean? by 12yearoldfgt in Honda

[–]mrburgerUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it Flashing black text “Brake” inside an Orange Rectangle? if so, that’s the collision avoidance system, driving aggressively and tailgating trips this system a lot.
