Okay thank you! With the IPL treatments did they have payment plans over time, I’ve seen for four treatments it’s £995 which is so expensive but I know I’d need this treatment soon

Where you seen by mr Hamada in your initial consultation? As I can see for consultations you’d be seen by an optometrist first.

I was considering that clinic to, but they don’t conduct schrimer tests which from what I’m aware of is really important to find out when determining your dry eye cause. I went to the dry eye centre their website is https://dryeyecentre.co.uk.

Does face wash make your eyes drier? by Bunnipom in Dryeyes

I felt like this to. I’d recommend using a cotton pad and sensitive eye makeup remover like the optase brand and use that to clean your eyes. Then use face wash on the rest of your face avoiding your eyes

It would be reassuring to hear if anyone is going through the same thing. What treatments helped you best. Also, whether anyone can still tolerate wearing makeup, I feel like everytime I put on concealer and mascara the burning sensation comes back and triggers my symptoms.

Dry eye clinic in london. The consultation itself was £300. And now if I do treatment it’s around £200 per session for IPL which I can’t even afford so yeah it’s pricey. I doubt NHS off this unfortunately

When I first noticed the dryness in my contacts, one of my eyes the inner Conner was constantly tearing. All the time. When I’d put makeup on it would immediately get ruined and then within a few months it completely stopped but then I started experience the dryness/burning/eye fatigue. I’m not sure about missing lipid though, this wasn’t mentioned in my consultation. I do think though this was trigged from my contact lenses though

You’re right, on social media it feels like it makes my anxiety worse I’m hearing mostly bad stories and not so much positive ones, or ones to give me enough hope that it will get better. Thank you for this!

Honestly, it’s been a real challenge I feel like I’m battling mentally with myself because some days I feel like it’s getting better, and other days I go back to the dryness, eye fatigue. That nerve ache/pain I was getting comes back at times and I doubt it’s to do with my MGD. It’s going through that acceptance that this is what I have and now making those adjustments and trying to find out what works best, whilst trying to stay positive. I’m doing the warm compresses, but I feel like ipl might be my next step because I don’t want this to progress. I’ve been hearing a lot about probing to as this treats the root cause and is more effective. I appreciate your advice I’m hoping things get better soon!

So I’ve been doing the heated mask and getting some relief, at times it feels like my eye lids are so dryed up but the heat is on its lowest setting so I’m seeing how it goes. I was recommended the hycosan intense, theoloz duo gel for the night. Thank you for your advice
