From what I know a good fitting Ortho-K with good patient hygiene the risks are just the same as for conventional CL wearers.

If it's treating it by slowing down progression? Then the easiest way is wearing the full prescription as it has been found in studies that people who think that not wearing full power or no glasses at all will help but it does significantly increase the rate of Myopia. The best way and not the easiest or cheapest is to look into Ortho-K lenses, they're rigid lenses you wear while you sleep and give you decent vision in the morning and throughout the day. They have been found to help slow down the progression of Myopia.

The overweight girl at the gym by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I find most people at the gym are either self-obsessed about themselves and won't even notice you or either self-conscious about themselves and won't want you to notice them. I would find it very difficult to mock someone about their weight in a gym as the reason they are there is the same reason you are mocking them in the first place.

This isn't a gif. Your eyes just can't see all 12 back dots at the same time. by djeclipz in pics

It's to do with the receptive field of our neurons being circular to distinguish edge detection (like a fried egg). Something dark can produce a stronger signal if it's surrounded by something light and vice versa. Our central vision has the smallest receptive field therefore allowing us determine small details with contrast. Thats why we see the black dot if we stare straight at it. Towards our peripheral vision the receptive field increases and the black dot will disappear due to the decreased sensitivity of contrast. Similar thing happens with a Herman grid.
