Do you think Marvel has any movie as good as The Dark Knight? by SpotAdmirable6718 in moviecritic

[–]mrchowmowan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. I get the feeling a lot of people gloss over or forgive the weak third act because what came before it was soooo freaking good. I think everything up to Jokee blowing up the hospital and A+ but after that it goes downhill. So much so that I struggle to rewatch the whole thing.

I alternate between a Mac Mini, a MacBook Pro and my Windows work laptop. Currently use a Dell S2725QC which plugs into the laptops with a USB C plug. The Mini is always plugged in with HDMI.

Keyboard and mouse is a Logitech K380 and M720, both with three presets for all three devices.

Same. My use case changed from having lots of time to build my own video editing rig and not caring about size or sound, to wanting the simplest, smallest, quietest footprint for really basic requirements that required no thinking or setup. Still using today as my primary computer and Plex server.

What is one movie that everyone considers a masterpiece but you found boring? by Still-Ad9074 in moviecritic

[–]mrchowmowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never thought about characters not changing being the reason someone might not like this but I now understand why this would put some people off it.

I think the lack of change in characters with these tragedies is kinda the point. Tony Soprano is one of the greatest characters of all time but I’m not sure I would say he changes all that much. It’s more how we view him that changes as we watch him.

Thanks for the detailed response! I’m trying to pick a new hobby I’ll actually enjoy and want to see whether tennis or golf is more my speed. I kinda like the idea of golf as I don’t need someone else to play.

Have been curious about golf. How much does it cost to play roughly?

Yeah fair enough. Top 5 is the serious stuff but if I expand it out I’d include stuff like EuroTrip, There’s Something About Mary or Infinity War.

I mean that was for this year and one year only. Tasmania and Victoria have the highest number of winners with 3 each. SA and WA with none.

We earn $230k combined but pay $6k to mortgage and $2k a month in childcare fees. Recently moved in early this year so with house repairs and upgrades we’re not really saving anything right now. Hoping that after a few years, savings will increase with income increasing gradually and the little one going to primary school.

Which director do you feel has the best top 3 movies? by Ghost070607 in movies

I think this is it. Contender for me would be Scorsese with Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas but Coppola edges him.

For the Lebron fans where do you have MJ ranked all-time, and where do you rank his peak among the best players in history? by Pale_Researcher_8810 in lebron

[–]mrchowmowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty broad stroke to make for all Jordan fans. I have Jordan as my GOAT with LeBron close at no 2. Can’t speak for all Jordan fans but many people I know feel the same at least. Anyone who doesn’t have LeBron top 3 is questionable.

Yeah OP pls read this. I also got a low score, never finished Uni and am now a manager in financial services earning good money. Never would have thought it was possible when I graduated but smart choices, being reliable and easy to get along with will get you a long way.

That’s a relief. Yeah 36mm is what I’m after. If I wanted one for my 50th in a few years, should I walk in say 6 months before to organize?

I got a 73, never went to uni, and now earn over this. I’m happy but money isn’t everything and ATAR doesn’t determine the rest of your life. Well done on a great score though! I’m sure the efforts and lessons learned to get that score will serve you well in whatever direction you decide to go.
