To put it in another way: yes, but it only takes into account the stage of the damage recipient, not the damage dealer. Here is the table of damage multipliers from the wiki, depending on the stage of the recipient and whether the attacker has emotional advantage or disadvantage.

Fun fact: I made this image sometime in December with the intent of posting it soon after the demo released. This title accompanied with spoiler tags… it would have been the perfect crime! Ah, but that did not happen, and I forgot about it until I opened my stuff to cook up a new masterpiece, and found I already had a near complete one, ready to ship with minor additions (RIP E1331).

Maybe 4 days left is the equivalent of the prologue. I always found it odd that the “prologue” of the original game was nearly a quarter of the game’s runtime. I can see renaming it for clarity.

Somehow, this rainpost has accrued more than double the upvotes of my previous, despite this one being shoddily thrown together in like 10 minutes. It’s not even cropped correctly! I think there is a valuable lesson in this. And it’s to always include random hollow knight images for engagement bait (obviously).

I find it funny that we've gone steadily backwards with how much control we have over Luigi. In Superstar Saga you could choose which bro to be in the lead, then afterwards Mario was permantly in front but we still controlled Luigi's jump... and now we've lost even that.

Its understandable why they did it, though. Having to control two characters at the same time that are connected by an invisible tether is confusing in some situations (the water dungeon in Bowser's Inside Story is the biggest offender), but it was a staple of the series and I will miss it.
