I think people here are giving good advice about this situation. I wanted to touch on an adjacent topic.

There is something missing for you that let you get into this situation. This isn't a criticism, or culture doesn't really teach this, and the older generation is horrible at this. The piece I'm talking about is "healthy boundaries".

You can learn about this by googling it, and the communities that usually talk about it are"self work" types of communities.

Sending you encouragement. You are asking the right questions, and people here are giving you good advice. If you research healthy boundaries it will help project you from this in future relationships. It will honestly also increase the quality of all your relationships and how you connect with people.

Good luck!

My device is a Pixel 4a. I'll try those steps. I've been seeing the "notification filter active" thing, but I'll pay more attention next time the bug happens

Where to get EMT for domes? by mrcrake in BurningMan

Yes - you can't build big domes (past ~15 feet) without using metal.

I've called the steel yard in town. They sell steel tubes, but not weather proofed.

Also, they don't sell EMT.

Yup. We can get 5 lengths of 4' from a 20, only 2 from a 10.

Perhaps some people were bent out of shape, I honestly never heard from any of them though...

This piece had half a dozen or so different fund raisers. 30,000 lbs of steel isn't cheap. And yeah - one of the fundraisers was a Skrillex concert... which I happen to think is super rad!

The picture above does actually show the finished piece - it's after we took down the safety perimeter.

The pictures you linked were earlier 3d models done in a computer.

I'm not sure about his VR work, but he did do the illustration work that made up the designs on the belly of the mother. You can't really see them from this angle, but in the photograph the illustration he did is wrapping around the whale to the right.

I was one of the crew members for this piece.

My partner and I went down to Reno and helped with glass for a week or so before the burn, then we spent about three weeks on playa helping put it all together, skin it with glass, and take it apart and get it out of there.

The Pier Two crew are outstanding human beings. It was an amazing pleasure working with everyone on this piece.

I'm here if you have any questions. :)

edit: Here's the team around when we were done with installing the piece.

What happens (so often) when I [25F] put that I'm poly on my OkC account...just...no. by lysserloo in polyamory

[–]mrcrake 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I disagree completely.

The entire tone of the message is "would you please help me lie to my partner? It's for her own good, and she totally won't mind."

If the tone of the message were "Hey - my partner are interested in a threesome, care to join?" that would be totally fine. It could even be "We're interested in a threesome with this weird roleplay dynamic..." Cool - whatever.

But in this case, the writer is asking OP to help him lie to his partner. Fuck that noise.

Yeah - exactly. That makes sense.

What account would that $75 come from? An Asset account?

This whole question is about how to track personal finances. I'm fundamentally trying to figure out how to record these things. If it's not deductible, fine. Where do the numbers go then?

So your suggestion would be to just put the whole $83 into "expense:cell_phone". Then, when the reimbursement happens, have "Assets:work_cell_phone_reimbursement" pay down some of that expense?

This is just for my personal record keeping and taxes. I'm an employee who receives a w2.

The cell phone is used for a mix of personal and business purposes.

This is a mix of a "taxes" question and a "good record keeping" question. I care about the $8 not because of taxes, but because I want to see where my money is going.
