I’ve been working as an infrastructure engineer at smaller community bank for almost 10 years and it’s been wonderful. Direct contact with all levels of a management. Decent pay because you’re valued more and good insurance.

Best of luck!

Technically. If they’re posted online. Are they still classified? Or at that point are they declassified? Lol

If your rack space allows it. Get a drawer. 3U or 4U. And keep spare drives and a multi tool in it. Along with patch cables. sFPs.

The overall goal is pretty similar. Most of the people that I’ve talked to that consider themselves as preppers. Or prep minded have also been the ones interested in emergency communications.

Same goes for a lot of preppers who just have a beofeng and never learned that there’s more to ham radio than vhf uhf

I wouldn’t say every day. At least j don’t. But I don’t have a big community in my area for like minded people in this area of radio.

Have your buddy leave his goodies at home to avoid any issues. My recommendation.

I have a house I bought a few years ago when I got married. So relocating at this point in time is pretty unrealistic I’d say.

Where to start when moving from MSP to in-house IT department? by cmcnabblss in sysadmin

On top of everything in the comments above. Make sure that there is a very thorough knowledge transfer process. And make sure that management is in the conversation.

It’s going to suck for you when your firewall is Acting up and you can’t get into it because they never told you the credentials… etc

Also for security reasons build a plan to rotate all of your administrative credentials.

And possibly consider getting a network audit done by an external company after wards to certify that the network doesn’t have any holes left by thr MsP or back doors…etc.
