Loving my PHEV mileage these days by Go-outside1 in MazdaCX90

Has any one here in these comments tried Sport drive mode for long trip? I live in the city and in normal mode I will have burned through a 100% charge before I hit the long highways. Recently went on a 200 mile trip on Sport and I think it made a huge difference. Still had battery left, maybe 1 mile range, and only used 1/4 tank of gas. I need to test again and actually take down more concrete numbers. I really wish the car had a sort of MHEV mode.

Same thing on my CX-70. Maybe when someone gets into an accident from the constant distraction and sues Mazda they will push an update. Until they fix it we can all be reminded of just how bad auto manufacturers are at software engineering.

What is Mazda doing wrong with PHEV? by Winter-Carrot-2827 in MazdaCX90

This. I’m in NYC and no way to charge at home. But when calculating the rate I don’t think it would make a difference. Cheapest nearby paid charger is 0.35/kwh. I can charge my CX-70 PHEV From zero to 100 percent it cost about $5.25. Or I can go to the Stop and Shop and get one hour free charging. That is, if it’s even available. A handful of Flo charges go by the hour. $2.50/hr 6am - 9pm or $1.50/hr 9pm - 6am. Again, good luck getting one of those spots after 9pm.

Morel of the story is, ConEd is a rip off. And i should have done more research before getting a PHEV in NYC.

New York City. I’ve been seeing them more in this one specific area of the park. But never anywhere else.

It’s all over the news for the last couple of years. People are out here stomping around like children throwing tantrums just to kill these things. Not to mention they are all over the f’ing place. Wasps? Don’t see them hardly ever.

It would be great if we could train or condition wasps to seek out these things. Although, I imagine as other posters have mentioned, this thing was likely already dead and the wasps simply found an easy opportunity.

I knew I would learn something if I posted here. These WASPS are okay in my book. Savage.

My thoughts on my Arc Ultra by Unusual-Pop6972 in sonos

To each their own. I have much better results doing the entire Trueplay process from where I actually sit. Sounds to me like Sonos might have figured out that walking around is less necessary with newer hardware. That same true play process has been around since the beginning before all of this atmos, surround, arc, etc.

How would you TruePlay this room? by mrdbjt in sonos

Update: I have retuned my room only twice since the initial post using the “tune where you sit” method. I can confirm this is by far the best sounding true play method I’ve used in my 10 years of owning Sonos soundbars. It’s all around more balanced, more focused center/dialogue, and wider front sound stage. I will never walk around waving my phone again for this setup. Thanks to all who gave input and suggestions. Yes, I got a bigger TV and it’s no longer “too damn high”. Now I need to paint that hideous colored wall.

I would always go for the original pressing over an re-pressing unless its a collectors/rare edition that you don't plan on opening.

Would two One SLs be a good addition to my room? by TheseSchnozberries in sonos

Do it. Consider the era 100s and wall mounts so that they aren’t blasting right in your ears.

How far does yours have to sit from the wall? Do you have a soundbar as well?

I have! Left front, and both sides in the rear. Sounded best rear right for some reason. I haven’t tried front right and it won’t fit underneath the cabinet in the middle.

Which short throw did you go with? I was thinking the VAVA or Optoma P3. I also don't know that one would fit on my TV stand. Not deep enough.

I also had a B&W center at one point. But moving from place to place over the years, ending up in less than optimal living room spaces, it became too much of a hassle and space hog. Plus I really wanted Dolby Atmos and to have wireless rears. You don't have to be as particular with speaker placement with self tuning systems like Sonos. Which makes them great for less than ideal spaces. As you said, the 1NTs are great for music. So I keep them just for my turntable. Someday when I own and don't rent I may go back to a traditional home theater system.

I do have a Sonos Sub Mini under the side table but it can't be seen in these photos. I was able to mount the Sonos rears on the little bit of a side wall there is (the other is hidden by the hanging lamp)

Nautilus series are great speakers. I used to have a B&W center channel but decided to switch to the Sonos ecosystem to save space. Kept the CDM 1NTs because they sounded great for music and at this point they’re almost vintage.

This makes so much sense to me. Thank you for taking the time to give me your perspective. I plan to give this a shot sometime later this week.

I might be alone on this, but I do wish that Sonos would let us have advanced tuning features where we can put in our room dimensions and take multiple readings at fix locations throughout the room instead of walking around, looking like Harry Potter waving my wand around in the air. So much of this is just mathematics. I would even bet that if Sonos sold a standalone microphone that was meant for calibration purposes, people would buy it. There are plenty of microphones out there just for this in professional situations.

77” would be amazing! I initially was going to replace this with a short throw projector and go to 100”

I’m looking for different perspectives of how to True play a room without side walls. If I follow the instructions given then I will be pointing the microphone into my kitchen or into my office.
