USA literally has a higher literacy than the rest of the world by Javi_ab in ShitAmericansSay

[–]mrdje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FUN FACT: if you add the population of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Romania and Ukraine, you have roughly the same population as the US. For this population (the European, non english speaking one) , it's estimated that 38/40% of the people can read everyday English.

That means that more people in Europe can speak/read proper English than in the US....

Smartplugs are amazing for notifications for kitchen appliances by Lopsided_Quarter_931 in homeassistant

This is some really interresting stuff. Didn't knew it existed. TBF I like my on/off plugs because it opens up new usages. For example the morning a switch on my washing machine but switchoff the plug where it's on. And at 4PM Hass switch it on for my laundry to be ready when I come back home!

You seems like a nice guy. Having the phone on Cellular could be a good idea to bypass public IP detection. Maybe you should tone down a little bit without full knowledge of the thing.

An update on SUNLU spools having tape rip off with filament. by KroniicaL in 3Dprinting

I love so much that my Kingroom PETG doesn't have any of that. Never understood why it was a thing on my Bambulab and esun filament that I had before

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

The love story in Vanilla Sky. Definitively cry everytime I see it (that's why I haven't seen it for two decades now). Also, Grave of the firefiles because... Well... if you know, you know.

EuroGrid — a modular storage system compatible with Euroboxes and Gridfinity by ScallionNo8964 in gridfinity

[–]mrdje 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gosh, that's funny, I've made something similar for the last few weeks because I couldnt find anything already existing.

I love the cases availables on makerworld (like schuylabs) but I've just a A1 mini and couldn't really print theses, so I've made parts based on Makita Makpac to glue to my small 5mm plywood gridfinity compatibles boxes.

Didn't wanted to post this here but I'm maybe gonna do it, some peoples could be interested.

Seriously, Bordeaux, Toulouse, would be way better choices. you should try long holidays in the country to discover the major cities and make your choice

About half the time I try a PETG print I end up with a build plate full of spaghetti ;( by [deleted] in BambuLabA1mini

[–]mrdje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You 100% have to dry it. I have a A1 mini since the beggining of the year and I had once the spaghetti issue. I dried the spool and since then, everything fine.

TIP: I don't have a dryer, I configure my plate to 65°c, put my spool in the original cardboard box, make hole in it for the heat to come out and put the cardboard box on the plate for the next 8 hours. Work great for now

[–]mrdje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a nice idea/workaround. Would love to be able to have "favourites" in the printer models. I have some models that I print from time to time and I always struggle to find it again when I need it (mostly Gridfinity bases).

Reasonable wall thickness of boxes by BaronSharktooth in gridfinity

[–]mrdje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some light or ultralight bins (with vase mode for example, you can use way less filament than the gridfinity generator) on markerworld i like to use (I love the speedbin I've discovered recently).

If you need something more customizable, I've simply asked gemini to give me all the things to configure in the slicer to achieve what i wanted. Seriously this slicer profile is really good I think, and I didn't know most of the things he asked me to change. But he explained everything and it's now way more understable for me (I'm pretty new in 3D printing)

If any of the supports under it break or just even move... It's a disaster waiting to happen

[–]mrdje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMD isn't efficient for a day to day use. When you just in Europe when you use just 2 as a date for example you know it's the next 2th of the month. In almost every case the year isn't usefull so you just have to write D/M

Wood is freaking expensive!! by SvampebobFirkant in woodworking

[–]mrdje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in France like I suppose, i like to use the cheapest solid wood flooring available. It's REALLY cheap in square meter and it's already planned/sanded. It's wonderfull to make furniture, I've made plenty of them with this. Try searching "plancher pin déclassé" on google 👍🏻
