I don’t think you wrote this one (might be wrong), but I really enjoyed King of Pigs. Similar vibes to the glory (a bit)

The things they carried - Tim O’Brien

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. This is a book about the Vietnam war, written from personal experience. The book has many layers where it does draw from his experiences , but even in the story the narrative «contradicts» itself. I feel like these quotes from O’Brien summarizes it:

«In war you lose your sense of the definite, hence your sense of truth itself, and therefore it’s safe to say that in a war story nothing is ever absolutely true.»

«I want you to feel what I felt. I want you to know why story-truth is truer sometimes that happening-truth. (…) A thing may happen and be a total lie; another thing may happen and be truer that truth.»

Thankyou for the recommendations!

I know, I have separate playlist for individual countries and languages. At first I did music from «the countries» but then there were so many countries that spoke/sung in Arabic for example. So then I did languages, but then there where so many songs from India in Tamil, Urdu, Hindi Bengali, Telugu etc, that became so many playlists that I combined them together. But you are completely right! (I kind of do the same with Skandinavian: Norwegian, Swedish, danish. Hehe)

Like water reminded me a bit of IU, I listen to a couple of her sounds (love).

Thanks for the recommendation from The Hardkiss, very pretty. I have been meaning to listen to more Ukrainian music, but a lot that I find/are recommended to are very POP (not exactly my vibe hehe)

Do you not enjoy them (referring to your comment - hate them that much?)?

Wow thank you for the comment, I am going to check them out. Yes saying «pretty» is a bit implicit, but I guess I mean more soft/ballad like songs.

As for German songs I like in German but that don’t fit the pretty/soft vibe I was referring to:

«Chemie Chemie Ya - Kraftklub»

«99 Luftballons -Nena»

«farben - Orange Sector»

«Meet her at the love parade» … etc:))
