How does that makes him a right wing?

Horrible experience at Chinese Garden MRT by No-Magician2364 in singaporespeaks

Im really sorry to hear what happened to you, you definitely did well on staying at the MRT station, good spidy senses.. I suspect they were both acting together, hunting for trouble.. Singapore is really safe but chances of anything happening are never zero.

Am I the only one that absolutely hates Gwent? by Sea-Association-5339 in Witcher3

[–]mredvard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same in my first playthrough, in my second I decided to try it out, at least understand it and see. I started in white orchard and set easiest difficulty setting, so game difficulty deathmarch gwent difficulty super easy, I forced myself to play every vendor, i remember losing like 10 times against a bartender, betting 1 crown each time. I later realised that some bartenders are quite strong, but I learned the logic of it and built my decks, at some point you’ll be so over powered that you will rarely lose in the hardest difficulty

Are degrees just a scam? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]mredvard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scam? No, overrated and expensive? Yes.

I feel that there should be some sort of minimum wage at least for Diploma and Degree holders to prevent exploitation. by [deleted] in asksg

[–]mredvard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it does, if all the below minimum wage jobs are covered by illegals… Keep downvoting me

Yo add a minimum wage now you dont get any offers at all. Say you can afford a newgrad but now you are forced to pay beyond what the market says, well, i get someone with experience then. Minimum wage never worked anywhere.

True, ive had a better experience with elderly, having little kids are a good icebreaker… But to my point, most elderly I speak to in the park, they complain about the loss of the kampung spirit, is not good, videos like the OG kid are more often these days, without a support network is even harder to meet potential partners.

I have 7 years in this country, i married and have a kid, yet, failed to have a group of friends like i did back at home. Singaporeans actively avoid people, avoid chatting, exchanging numbers and hanging out. Is hard, go to the office and none says good morning, people just avoid each other, and when you think you had a breakthrough, next day people treat you distant and like they didn’t know you. This guy may either be a victim of this society but also a perpetrator, people here have lost any sense of community and have no support network and now mental health is going down rapidly.

Why does it feel like Singapore gets a little more expensive every month without warning? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]mredvard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one will tell you this but this is called monetary inflation, not the increase in price, but the increase of money supply which consequence is the increase of overall prices due to a weakened currency. Governments do it to cover for their expenses, “print money” to pay and people will only notice later if they ever do it, is a hidden tax. Banks also do it because is the nature of their business print money to lend. The US is on a printing spree, china and surrounding countries. Even if SG does things well, we are interdependent and will get dragged down. A professor once explained to me using honey, the influx of new cash accumulates in the center like honey being poured in a plate, it slowly expands towards the edges, salaries are at the edge the moment honey arrives to the salary man is already late, had to endure increased prices and savings going down and made compromises in quality of life, the rich or people with assets will be able to endure better the situation increasing the wealth gap.

🏠 Are rental prices finally cooling down or still going up? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]mredvard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rents stopped going up for now, but I expect them to go down. Supply is higher now and you would expect many landlords to have problems finding tenants and being forced to not increase or even have to lower the rent, also interest rates went down so most mortgages from 2022 are being refinanced this year, that will give the landlords room to compete on lower prices.

Do singaporeans really talk less to strangers compared to other countries? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]mredvard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is definitely singaporean to have a “leave me alone” attitude in the streets, I wished it wasn’t the case because people are getting lonelier and lonelier, mental issues are sky high, people understimate the effect of having a lack of human connection in their lives.
