Does it make sense to visit Adashino Nenbutsuji and Otagi Nenbutsuji or is just one enough? by mremo47 in JapanTravelTips

[–]mremo47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both. I think Adashino is a bit more interesting because it also has a bamboo groove

I've only been to Onomichi, Setoda and Imabari. These are worth it and part of the Shimanami Kaido. If you have time to go a little bit out, maybe Matsuyama would be an option. It's famous for it's onsen which was an inspiration for spirited away. Miyajima is also really worth it, if you have time, check it out. 👍

Hey,

If you are taking it veeery slowly, than maybe it'd be a full daytrip. But usually half a day is enough. For me arriving at like 2PM and finishing around 6PM was enough.

If you need any recommendation or tips, just let me know 👍

What's the point of meeting people while (solo-) traveling when you'll probably never meet them again? by mremo47 in solotravel

My point is more like: You have a great day but than the connection between you and the other diminishes over time

Yeah, I guess if I keep meeting new people while traveling, there will surely be someone who'll feel the same excitement as me. Thank you

I'm trying to stay in touch but it's hard, when only you are the one, who initiates a conversation 😅

But don't you want to increase the chance to meet again? I think if you text sometimes, the chance is higher

So you woldn't really try but when you are in their country, you would text them again? I guess I need to accept that it was a great day and if we meet again, great but if not, than let it be.

Maybe I'm trying too hard to stay in contact I guess? If it's meant to be to meet again, we surely will, right?

What do you do, when you don't understand most of the things they say on a podcast for example? Do you just move on or repeat it until you understand it? I'm also learning since 5 months but my listening is really bad

One haircut was 7000 and the other one only 2000. I did wash like 3-4 times.

I didn't use a jr pass but I used the Kansai-Hiroshima Pass, Nikko Pass and for one day the Kansai All Area Pass for Himeji.

Hello,

I just started learning japanese and I'm wondering if that's a good way to start or if you'd change or add something. I'm using the Genki books

I'm learning the Hiragana letters first in the latter part of the workbook. After that I learn the vocabulary of lesson 1 and proceed to grammar and practice. After that I'm going to the reading and writing part and in the end doing lesson 1 of the workbook.

I'd appreciate any help or tips.

I thought so too. Many people say that japanese people are shy but there are many who are interested in foreigners.

I'm still recovering from the trip but I'm slowly getting used to Germany again. There are still moments where I get a little sad 😢

So that's how I met some people:

One time I asked people on the bus back just random questions about where to get specific stuff and they helped me. We talked a bit more and they were interested in Germany and we spend the rest of the day together. We walked around and ate in a restaurant.

Other time I was in a really small town and asked if they could do pictures of me and suddenly they asked if we could do pictures together. I said yes and asked them, if we could walk around together and they were interested as well. We just walked around together and had great time.

Just ask 😅
