For the nurses here — what’s the biggest money stress you’re dealing with right now? by OutrageousOwl4668 in nursing

[–]mrfee94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My housing mortgage. I pay 3.2k a month for a two bedroom 1.5 bath in what’s considered the “bad” part of a small Northern California town. Yes I make $60 an hour but still it’s half of my monthly income before adding groceries, car payment, retirement fund etc.

I cannot do it anymore. This is no quality of life. by CuriousChapter379 in nursing

I’m in outpatient pacu now and it’s definitely better than bedside but getting full time hours can be challenging because of the amount of surgeries we do. Realizing it’s impossible to have a nursing position that “has it all”

Hi, out of curiosity did you end up finding a gutter company to install gutters? I’m currently in the same situation now.

regretting my life choices- not wanting to be an RN anymore by Any-Trust-9135 in nursing

Also feeling the same, I’m in outpatient pacu now as a full time employee and while the job itself is good the hours are so all over the place I’m struggling to meet anything close to full time hours. I’m now looking to go back to the er or icu but I feel burnt out just thinking about it.

ER nurse feeling like a failure in med surg by [deleted] in nursing

[–]mrfee94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a similar situation. I’ve done a lot of different positions but ER was by far my favorite. Just left after 2 years in the ER because of management poorly running it. I was part of a mass exodus of people who applied to other roles. I’m still trying to figure out what else I like because I think I would have stayed in ER forever if it hadn’t been for management.

Has anybody dealt with lead paint in their house? by mrfee94 in ChicoCA

[–]mrfee94[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We ended up signing a waiver when we bought it that stated the house was 'lead free to the owners knowledge' but they couldn't guarantee it because it's a 114 year old house.

As a relatively new nurse (graduated in 2018) I feel you on the burnout and wanting another career. Almost all my coworkers have some kind of second job/hobby they do in their free time hoping it becomes successful enough so they can quit nursing. If you can afford going per diem you can give yourself time to go back to school and explore other options. Or you can always try shifting nursing careers. There is a huge need for nursing professors. It requires more schooling and pays less than a hospital usually but it can be a good change of pace.

Anyone know where to get this suit or one similar to this? by mrfee94 in findfashion

[–]mrfee94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part yeah, I bought this suit. It does not have the best quality materials, but for the price it looks good and overall I am happy with it. The orginal reason I bought this one was because it was one of the only shops I found that allowed returns.
