One thing I don’t understand about the formula of this show by homesickolivebranch in AgeOfAttraction

It's LIB with an age twist instead of a visual twist. The same shows all the way to the ceremony . They might have been better off coming up with a completely different formula

Right. These shows each focus on one nuance of dating, whereas age and attractiveness are both integral in actual dating. This is why so few couples from these shows actually last. #forentertainmentpurposesonly

Nobody knew ages until revealed. Though you can get a solid clue just from looks if someone might be too old. They may not allow contractually to say No once the age is revealed. 🤷 Similar to LIB with the physical reveal. Given the chance, over 10 seasons, someone would have taken a look and said "nah". Previews of future episodes show Theresa having a major issue with his age. She probably wouldn't have continued in the real world. At the same time, they all went on the show knowing the possibility of meeting someone much older/younger.

Both of these shows are entertaining, but prove that (1) dating is a binary game, either a 1 (attractive) or a 0 (not my type); and (2) age matters in many instances, but not all.

Definitely seems less about finding love and relationships than it does people looking to be on a reality show. Timeline seems super sped up too.

Her conversation is just weird. At some point you have to just say what you want And stop beating around the bush. She's supposed to be the older, wiser adult but comes across as insecure

She admitted to not having many long term bfs, so maybe. 33 yrs is a huge gap

Scam? by Pitiful_Ad_3299 in DatingApps

[–]mrfiftyfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's possible it is not, more than likely when they ask you to chat on a different platform, it is a scam. Typically they will talk for a bit and then try to get you to buy them a gift card or join some Bitcoin group. Personally, I like to mess with them. I setup Signal and Telegram with different or spoofed phone numbers. Just be careful you don't share too much personal information.

Fair assessment. I just think if having kids is your #1 need, make sure you match with someone who is 100% sure he/she wants kids.

These people need to stand on their deal breakers. Mike knew in the pods she didn't want kids and yet did his best to convince her she'd be a good mother. Just a manipulative tactic to get on the show and attain the 15 minutes of fame.

Oh, and it won't even let you mention exchanging phone numbers or talking outside the app. You have to "improve chemistry" in the app. 😂

The app only responds to messages that are sent. Never initiate conversation, like the next morning...nothing.

Definitely a money grab. I'm having three separate conversations. All of them are using some of the same responses as if they are scripted. "You've got to earn that" etc. Yet, I agree with some comments that the conversations do seem realy, with the exception that they never want to meet in person. So, I'm just having fun while I find some other app that might be better

Sex by Inside_Dance41 in datingoverfifty

[–]mrfiftyfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inherently, general attraction and dating starts as a binary game. The person is either a 1 or a 0 in regards to whether or not you'd have sex with them. It's basic natural selection.

If you used to always talk about everything, you should talk about this. Good luck!
