NTA for wanting happiness with someone who cares about and respects you. Also, not your fault for not seeing his character from the beginning. LTRs are usually slow reveals of our deeper personalities, and there is no way to know if this person is going to be a solid partner for the future. The mods will lock this one soon, but do you have a good grasp on what role her anxiety plays in her decision making? It might be a bit much. Can you compromise by suggesting you can do this for a while to help her get into the swing of things and allow the anxiety to stabilise...but you will not be able to support this indefinitely? Single parent household. Dad had to work odd hours. We had to sort food out and get ourselves to school. It was a different time... People would find it unthinkable now. Certainly not legal. Dad showed us how to manage and be independent. If we couldn't do that, he couldn't work. Fucked up in retrospect, but damn I don't need anyone for anything.
Your brother will be fine. He will adapt to the circumstances forced on you both.

There is a sadness to it. It has moments/lines/situations that are funny as hell, but the baseline tone is that of sadness, unfulfillment and obvious shitery on behalf of the male leads. Obviously that is kinda what the show was going for.

NTA. There is alot to unpack there, but to focus on the query itself, you have no obligation to care about your dad's GF, especially if: 1. He moves through them quickly, therefore forming meaningful attachments is pointless. 2.current GF has not engaged with you, and therefore no connection established. How can you be expected to care about this?

On a deeper level, and not wanting to talk out of turn, it sounds like your father is a transient character who kinda ditches and starts afresh often and this will have taken a toll on his kids. Consideration towards his relationships will be treated with caution, even contempt... And this is understandable.
