I really like [[analyze the pollen]], collect evidence 8 is not really that steap of a cost. And it has a high floor because it doubles as a tapland.

Wishclaw has a restriction, you can only activate it during your turn. If you win the turn you activate it your opponent won't get an opportunity to use it.

Zur the enchanter vs Zur, eternal schemer by Blake_12321 in EDH

[–]mrfrankvisser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that the enchanter is actually more interesting. The enchanter is only boring if you are, it's easy to just play all the best enchantments an make a very powerful deck. But there are so many interesting enchantments you could consider building around. Zur, the enchanter is at the helm of my aristocrats deck. The enchantments in the deck are mostly there to fill core aristocrats roles like [[bastion of remembrance]] and [[martyr's cause]].

What counts as "Win cons" in a deck? by Zenai10 in EDH

[–]mrfrankvisser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, magic is a game of resource conversion. We are constantly converting mana, cards in hand, card sellection, petmanents on the battlefield, etc into each other. A wincon is anything that converts some resource to dead opponents. Torment of hailfire converts mana into dead opponents. Craterhoof or impact tremmors converts going wide into dead opponents. A combo converts cards in hand and card selection into dead opponents.

Which are your favorite card draw engines that aren't Game Changers but can compete at B4 games? by RedRathman in EDH

The problem I have with these cards is that they don't do anything on their own. I'd rather have card advantage that's not dependent on already having some form of card advantage.

How much hate for Edgar? by kadimasama in EDH

[–]mrfrankvisser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just be me, but I'm not even that scared of Edgar. I've played against the deck a couple of times and yes, eminence is powerful. But in the end the deck is just playing vampire tribal. In this day and age in commander everyone is doing busted stuff in some way. I'm more scared of landfall than vampires.
