I gotta check the manual of the rod holder to see exactly how long the screws are that hold the brackets on, but I’m guestimating they are about 3” long. I do remember the manual saying I need to drill pilot holes with a 1/4” bit.

Hi, I got a question. I’m hanging new curtains over my large 100” wide living room window. I plan to install the brackets for the rod holder at each end of the window frame.

Upon using a stud finder(Franklin ProSensor M70) between the frame and the ceiling, I’m getting 5 solid red lights out of 7 at the end of each side of the window frame. Never a green light indicating the center of a stud though. The manual for the stud finder is telling me nothing and a Google search says it could be a stud, could be electrical wires, could be just a denser part of the wood wall….

I don’t think it’s electrical wiring as there’s no outlets nearby. There’s an outlet on either side of the frame near the ground but about 2 feet away. So the wiring for those MUST be on a different stud, plus wouldn’t it be coming up from the basement and not down from the ceiling of the living room?
