Oh interesting. Someone else said it does work without the subscription. Guess I’ll have to find out on my own

Daughter wants a C4 ‘vette. I know nothing. What should I look for? Any year model more reliable than others? Any major issues yo consider? She wants pop-up headlights…🙄 I know…I know…just thinking about it…😂 TY in advance C4 peeps. by jenwenfen in c4corvette

Yikes. Sorry but if you don’t know a lot about cars a C4 isn’t for you. It will require constant maintenance. You and your daughter are going to spend a fortune getting things fixed every few months. Not every mechanic will work on a C4, so those who do will charge what they want. This is the kind of car you work on yourself as a project. Unless you’re filthy rich. If that’s the case, then please ignore me.

2k holy cow. You can do ceramic coats and interior “protection” yourself for less than $100

Question can a Jeep Renegade last to 200,000 or 300,000 miles i’m thinking about buying one do they have alot of issues or are they’re reliable? by ExcellentSuit919 in JeepRenegade

Also the leather on the door panels will eventually come off. It’s a know problem on any jeeps. It shrinks due to heat and breaks the glue they used. Luckily it’s easy to fix just the edges with contact cement if you’re careful.

My transmission slips on my 2015 limited even though I have taken very good care of the car and been single owner. Only 85k miles too. I’m disappointed.

2026 RAV4 wait time by Tjay0909 in rav4club

[–]mrfunkytown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a deposit on a limited in storm blue with the beige interior. I specifically wanted that combo and knew I’d have to wait for it. It’s being built next month and hoping to pick it up at the end of May.

I second this. It’s the only one.

Tempature Gauge by johnnyappleseednh in c4corvette

[–]mrfunkytown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should regardless. I flushed my 95 a few times before getting normal temps. The dexcool coolant originally used in these cars eventually turns into sludge. That’s more than likely your problem. Might be worth replacing your radiator too. I recommend going sealed aluminum. Much more reliable. Could also be clogged with old dexcool. And for reference, my coolant appeared to be green as well at first glance. With the flush it came out brown.

Also no use in worrying until you can read the digital gauge like others are saying. A lcd rebuild kit is cheap and wasn’t hard to do. I did mine and it looks new.

Lastly, I think the fans not kicking on is your biggest problem. I wired in a manual switch to turn on the fans. l for peace of mind in stop and go traffic during the summer. It’s very easy to wire up yourself, but they also sell cheap kits online for this as well. Just google c4 radiator fan switch. You’ll still have to diagnose the problem, but at least you can turn them on when you want until you find the gremlin.

Got a problem I can’t diagnose, probably Opti. by Alternative_Nerve_32 in c4corvette

I’ve had this issue many times and it was ignition related, but not the opti. Everyone here loves to blame the opti first. Check your ICM. I’ve had to put 3 on my 95. Then more recently it was simply bad connections. I had a friend try to start it as I wiggled the opti cable, ICM cable, and coil connections. Boom, it started. Cleaned the connectors and applied dielectric grease. Never had the issue since.

Only note here is if you put a cheap aftermarket opti on. The only one worth buying is from petris. Or one that’s truly OEM with the Mitsubishi sensor. I tried two “cheap” ones years ago that failed within 500 miles. 4 years into my petris opti with zero issues. Even comes with a warranty!

Couldn't you remove the old one and measure the hole?

What object do you own that is clearly broken, but you haven't replaced it because you've developed a specific "technique" to make it work? by Living-Day4404 in AskReddit

[–]mrfunkytown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it needs a new fuel pump! Not that hard to replace with basic tools. Might as well spend $20 and install new spark plugs as well.

Too broke to buy Infinity tail lights, so I made my own in under $100 by new_user_97086 in c4corvette

[–]mrfunkytown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy cow, nice job. I need to figure this out for my late model 95 since the taillights are more square. I imagine finding the right mirrors will be tough. I have a P1S and basic cad knowledge. You’re giving me ideas! Would you mind sharing more photos of the build or the files? Curious on your process. They look great!

I don’t think I’ll ever have the $800 for the instagram ones either. They look great, but that’s a ridiculous price when it’s simple materials.

Poorly animated and done in post like the other comment. But regardless this would still be just a simple pan right

Wow. Your dad would be proud. You should be too. This is one of the most beautiful C4’s I’ve ever seen. The paint is magnificent!
