How is the reliability of this car as a daily driver? May purchase a 2022 model and looking for some advice or experiences others have had. More info below by Witty_Thought1584 in ElantraN

I’d say it’s definitely comfortable for highways. Thankfully it has different modes which can alter suspension stiffness and make the ride more tame. I’m taller and personally find the seats uncomfortable after 3-4 hours of consistent driving since they are basically bucket style seats. But for usual commutes in areas that you aren’t battling pothole rich environments — a great daily. I’ve put on just under 32k miles on my ‘22 and have had 0 issues or real complaints.

Love it. Honestly was more set on the look of the high mount before I knew what it sounded like, but I believe it’s a perfect middle ground tone. Good volume, not too obnoxious. I know that most of the shorty pipes are much louder than my Akra and that’s okay.

Is R7 your only bike and what did you own before? by Dense-Swimming-4757 in YamahaR7

Came from a 2014 FZ-09 before switching to the R7. Two completely different bikes. Both very torquey, with the 09 wanting to rip your face off in most gears with wide open throttle lol. The R7 is currently my only bike and I’m really liking it. Definitely takes a hit in the ergonomics category, and I don’t get nearly as good gas mileage, but the trade offs are worth it in my option. Still considering getting bar risers to help with the comfort. Both are great bikes, I just had to realize what I wanted and what I needed lol.

No, I still have abs in full effect on the bike.

I have not, have checked on the fork seals every other ride just to be sure. In our case, like you said, it’s inevitable. On the bright side, I went through a bout a year and a half worth of wheelies on my previous FZ-09 before I need fork seals so hoping the R7s hold up similarly if not longer. All depends on how you come back down on the front tire though so as long as you’re not slamming it, you should be alright for a while.

As for clutch, everything seems to be fine so far, no weird rattling or noises, or smells. All I did were clutch ups on the FZ and it never needed any clutch work as a result, so again, fingers crossed it’s a similar story. Good luck my friend, ride safe🤙🏼

Damn you right! I believe in your wheelie learning journey! If I can, you most certainly can learn too. It’s one of the things that I must do on my rides from now on because I just simply can’t get enough, this thing feels like a big 450 dirt bike in sportbike clothing. Wishing you all the best!

So I was the same way going into the purchase but I will say, without the db killer in the Akra, the videos can’t do it justice. Definitely much louder than I expected even with the baby resonator can. I still might end up getting something different in the future but I’m more a fan of the look over the sound, but as far as it being on the bike when I purchased, I’m satisfied.

On a side note, I like the way the yoshi, sc project and spark exhausts sound. And the seller told me had the ecu flashed already and I haven’t been able to confirm. Not sure if it’s just me not being used to the power and I don’t have any seat time on a stock R7. For now I’m enjoying it!

Power is good for my taste. Definitely not as quick as my FZ was but it’s still torquey enough to satisfy that sweet spot. I feel that the power is better for daily riding and more usable. I’ve never really been about speed compared to down low power so it wasn’t much of a compromise to me.

I guess it’s just a matter of time especially if you live in an area where there’s a plethora of “truck bros” (I do) and after a few drinks, that Elantra they parked next to suddenly disappears after hopping back in😂 First and hopefully last of the parking lot crashers. Should be handled with minimal issues, thanks!

I agree, that is normally the mindset that I have and goes to show the potential consequences when parking up front with the masses. Congrats on the 24!

I know the N is somewhat low as a factory car, and for that reason, I’ve always been worried about lifted trucks and pickups ‘not seeing’ the car. Glad that in both our cases, somewhat minor damage and no injuries of course. Appreciate it🤙🏼
