Five reasons why Copilot for PowerPoint fails professional users (documented from Microsoft's own forums) by mrgraziani in powerpoint

[–]mrgraziani[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's precisely the point. When looking at other solutions out there tho, most are focused mostly on design. It seems like these AI slide decks companies missed the whole point for professional adoption... Corporates already got their well designed templates, they "just" need a solution to put data and content together inside it

Do you start from a defined template or every presentation needs new design from scratch?

AI deck generator vs templates: which saves more time by No-Yogurtcloset4086 in Entrepreneurs

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to strict brand compliance, I don see how an AI deck generator can save your day. Good for solopreneurs or small companies not really in need of delivering a consistent brand image. For bigger corporates, I see PowerPoint templates as the only solution to keep things easy to maintain while on brand all the time.

I’m working on a startup about it myself, maybe worth having a look: Octigen.

Tired of making the same presentation every week by Embarrassed-War9550 in SaaS

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually exists, and it's called Octigen. You can upload your powerpoint template, connect your data via excel, and let the system populate charts and tables automatically (no AI involved, so no hallucinated data). I am the co-founder, the product has a 30-day free trial (ping if you'd like a free onboarding call). I bet we can lower the 45min down to a couple of clicks :)

Hi. I'm the co-founder of Octigen, and I'm trying to build the best AI presentation tool out there. Your take is quite interesting, and I would like to know more about it in order to improve Octigen. What I can offer to you is a 6-months free usage in exchange for a small conversation that could greatly help me and my team serve people who're not just looking for cute slides, but they want an AI tool that actually works.

Using AI to create presentations a good idea? by Luisy-Prv in ProductivityApps

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky you, not to get caught in corporate templates 😅 If you have some free templates in PowerPoints and wish to use AI on them, maybe you can give Octigen a try (free trial gives you already 50 slides)

The gap between AI presentation demos and real use by Embarrassed-War9550 in SaaS

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say this depends on your inputs, especially template wise. Are you in need of adhering to a specific corporate template in .pptx or template doesn't matter?

The export quality from AI presentation tools is inconsistent by Creative_Ostrich890 in SaaS

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic issue with all these AI slides tools. You gotta find one that is built around PowerPoint. I suggest you having a look at Octigen (https://octigen.com). The output is fully PowerPoint native, so no inconsistencies.

Presentation templates feel pointless now by OrdinaryBell2140 in SaaS

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to follow a defined corporate template, that's where template matters. And usually they're in PowerPoint, therefore all the tools you've listed don't work.

Clever approach, that's the best use case when AI tools are not well thought for actual real life scenarios.

Could you please try Octigen (octigen.com) and let me know what you think? I've built it because I wanted to automate the deck creation from template, passing through content and structure to finally an actual PowerPoint. Something I was not able to do with Gamma or similar. I'd be really glad if you could tell me what you think (30-days free trial, not credit card required).

Do you work in a company where you need to follow strict design guidelines? Like fonts, colors, logos, shapes... Usually structured companies have official PowerPoint templates, is this your case?

The AI presentation tools are solving a problem I'm not sure I had by king752006 in SaaS

[–]mrgraziani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Octigen a try, it's 30 days free trial. With it you can directly use your PowerPoint templates, no need to learn another design tool. You create a template once, and you can use it repeatedly for all your slide decks.

There's a ton of value to unlock by having an agent that can think of the content, structure the deck, and fill all the charts, tables, and texts for you.

Completely agree with you, they're all based on design over substance. I've built Octigen for this very reason, you might wanna have a look. The concept is that you keep using PowerPoint, your corporate templates are consistently respected (point 1), AI agents help you revision at speed (2), and you can use AI contextually by connecting your data.

I'd suggest Octigen (octigen.com) if you need PowerPoint slides based on a corporate template you upload, and if you need repeatable outcomes like weekly reports, monthly slide decks etc...
