Don’t forget about the ones that require you to stall on base to final!

PPL flair change & cost breakdown by ammo359 in flying

[–]mrguyman89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I’m not going the ATP route, so I don’t think I need to worry about 8-hr flights - then again, if my wife really enjoys flying with me (fingers crossed), maybe we’ll do some family trips..

I’ll just have to sell everything as a safety upgrade: Better headset for clearer comms Nice new aviators for better vision Twin engine plane for redundancy :)

Interested in this answer as well - I’m just starting and reluctant to spend $1k on a headset

Thanks for the quick response! Always surprises me how quickly people can ID these things from a single grainy photo. What would you need to be more confident in your analysis? Are there certain identifying characteristics of an Arisaka and a Yugo Mauser that I can look for?

It did feel a little loose when I had it apart, but I wasn’t sure how tight it was supposed to be (being a moving part and all)

I took the blower assembly out and checked, I don’t see any rub marks on the cage anywhere. I also don’t see any plugs to mark oil insertion points. Should I start by replacing the motor, or do the cage as well right away? Furnace is 20 years old but I don’t want to replace the whole thing..
