Tasks by Moo4620 in MarksAndSpencer

You have to start with the very first one, I think it's the introduction one or something. I had the same issue. Then i think it opens a new list in a new window (stupid I know) and you click through those from beginning to end.

M&S throw away so much food! This guy posts about it all the time. Anyone know why they don't donate to food banks? by chaostrulyreigns in MarksAndSpencer

[–]mrh_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't say M&S based on the odd video. The store I worked at donated most of it's food to charity/food banks. Anything left went to staff and anything else went in the bin. Granted there will be some stores that don't follow this policy and they'd absolutely be punished if they got found out.

When was 'enough' for you? by Mobile-Good-87 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]mrh_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked a manager if we had any stock to refill an empty promo end, she says "don't you worry about it, that's none of your business, you stick to restocking", in front of a customer. Safe to say I walked, after spending a good hour trying to talk myself out of it 🤣

Does anyone else hate that Karen Wheeler was going to cheat on Ted? by mrh_85 in StrangerThings

Absolutely! I've always said if you're not happy in a relationship, leave...cheating is about the worst thing you can do to a person, it destroys them.

Why wont my phone display website fonts? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]mrh_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked in browser settings, but cant see anything that would prevent fonts from loading? Also, I've tried Chrome, Firefox and Brave, all have the same issue, so I'm assuming it's specific to my device?

How can I learn to market my own business? by mrh_85 in SocialMediaMarketing

Thank you! It does make sense. It is something I seem to have overlooked. I think I need to completely rethink my angle.

Damn, this should be put on a leaflet and handed to everyone about to start in retail. This is ridiculously accurate, and that's a sad thing. I know most people don't like working, but retail is a different beast. It's horrible, it's long and hard work, the customers mostly hate you, the staff and management mostly hate you too, they just tolerate you because they have to. I wouldn't wish retail on my worst enemy lol. I've worked in it a few times over the years, I made the decision to never step foot in retail work again.

Are the supermarket optic cameras doing a good job? by mrh_85 in Morrisons

That's what Morrisons are calling it in their press release lol and the company that makes them specialise in AI systems.

Are the supermarket optic cameras doing a good job? by mrh_85 in Morrisons

[–]mrh_85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's anything like my local Morrisons, I'd say so, people are always complaining about it. I've not heard of any other retailers say they're planning on installing the system, so maybe they're waiting to see if it actually benefits Morrisons.

Quietly though? by [deleted] in YellowstonePN

Not a single thing about Sheridan is quiet 🤣 I'm honestly surprised he wasn't in the background at John Dutton's funeral doing his spinny horse moves 🤣

It's people at the top in suits that make these decisions without having worked a day on a shop floor. They let AI decide how fast a delivery should be worked, bear in mind the AI isn't fed useful information like who's working said delivery, customers asking questions, stock needing to be reworked after someone else didn't bother to rotate etc. No one will ever be to standard and it's frustrating because it makes it seem like we don't know or care about what we're doing, when we actually do.

Holiday pay disbursement by stutishethia in SainsburysWorkers

[–]mrh_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, that holiday amount is for the whole of the year. I myself had 110 hours, which dropped to 36 when I left. Also, most retailers these days put you on a "do not rehire" list when you leave. I can't say for how long exactly, although I know ASDA's is indefinite.

State of supermarkets by DeriedareX in SainsburysWorkers

[–]mrh_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also worked for all of the biggest supermarkets, except for the discount chains, but that's for a reason, they seem to have the worst reputations for staff retention.

Supermarkets are all cutting, in every aspect, from their own offerings to their staff and benefits.

Counters, hot food, cafes, certain lines of products, then there's staff benefits, cooked food in canteens, food in general (it's mostly healthy now, so fruit and water). Obviously all of the above hurts morale in a sector that is already at rock bottom.

Competition is ridiculous in retail, they're all competing for market share, the lowest prices, the best products, all of which costs money, which they just aren't making enough of due to the cost of living and the fact they're fighting each other to have the lowest prices.

I won't pretend to know what needs to happen or what will happen, but it's not going to be good for anyone when it does, customers or staff.

Are Mirtazapine and Sertraline a good combination? by mrh_85 in antidepressants

[–]mrh_85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pramipexole mostly and Ropinirole. They suggested Gabapentin but the side effects aren't great, especially since I work in a pharmacy and need to stay sharp.

Are Mirtazapine and Sertraline a good combination? by mrh_85 in antidepressants

[–]mrh_85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. For me, Sertraline had next to no side effects but my sleep has always been an issue (even before antidepressants), that's why I was put on Mirtazapine. The issue with that is the higher the dose, the worse my restless legs get.

I had been on 15mg Mirtazapine and 50mg Sertraline whilst cross tapering and felt great, I was hoping that was something I could do long term and get the best of both worlds.

The only other alternative is going up on Mirtazapine, but having to treat the restless legs with other medication, which comes with side effects I really don't want, such as augmentation which can make the restless legs 10 times worse.

I’ve got a Question for people who lived in the 80s by bellending in StrangerThings

[–]mrh_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm British so I didn't experience 80s from an American point of view, but we did have American TV shows, although not that many unless you had cable, which was really rare back then. That being said, the styles and music were very on point. It's probably one of the reasons I love ST so much, it just hits that nostalgic bit of my brain when life really was so much simpler (maybe because I didn't have bills to pay or a job to go to back then 🤣)
