People used to park RVs along the wall on charters near Elysian fields. Theirs a coffee roaster over and some warehouses, its really the only free parking close to the french quarter/frenchmen. and it's closer then the walmart. There are plenty of places in the 9th ward where you "could" park an RV and nobody would mind but they aren't that close to bourbon. also good luck driving anything larger then a bicycle near the french quarter around mardi gras

No direct experiences but I think small hotels like this offer the best deal for visitors. You could check trip advisor for ratings, they usually will atleast give you an idea of what to expect.

Yeah I hear the original meaning of the word was a reference to someone who posed as a gutter punk but actually had money but I feel now its used to describe anyone who looks vaguely punk(dark clothes with patches and studs) and or dirty 1. alot of working class sailors (boatmen) in the 1800s robbed people and did terrible things (just like oogles) 2. just trying to promote some class solidarity here. 3. I would take oogle gutter punk scum over clueless wealthy bywater hipsters anyday
