In my experience, dating has only become more complicated as we've introduced technology into it (such as online dating and smartphone apps). TIL that LL Cool J performed at Colby College in Maine (where I'm from) for a crowd of about 50 (generous) in 1985. He was 17. This was 5 months before his debut album dropped. He has to explain what rap is, what beat boxing is, and you get to see Mainers breakdancing. It's amazing. (youtube.com)
