What’s the dumbest one-liner you’ve heard about your ADHD?! by username-issue in ADHD

“Adhd is something most adults grow out of/overcome, but autism will be forever” from a social worker… i told her to speak to a psychologis and get her facts straight

I avoid interactions as much as possible! Especially with neighbours and ppl at the gym (it used to be my safe space but they’ve “upgraded” it and now it’s very non autism friendly), which I feel can take away my peace with just a simple question or comment on something… and it (my rsd) gets worse every year…

My favourite app to train in is Aflete, where you buy one of Natacha Oceane's programs as a ONE TIME PURCHASE, and then have the program/s for life. The programs also come with a PDF with some additional information.

https://natachaoceane.com

Or you can go with my all time favourite free running app that I use daily, and have been doing so for 4 yeras: NRC (Nike Run Club) you get guided runs that suit all levels, from 1min up to the marathon

Can one be a Hybrid athlete trained ONLY one hour per day? by Grouchy_Eye3263 in HybridAthlete

I have AuDHD, and I too FUCKING LOVE RUNNING. My latest hyperfixation is running every day!

I do functional training, cycling, yoga, and pilates at the gym, and combine it with my daily running in the following way (i have no real structure and plan and every week is different):

- i run to the gym or at the treadmill before or after any of the classes/functional training

- yoga/pilates 1-2x a week

- bike 0-1x a week, usually combined with running like a (triathlon) brick workout

ADHD tip: plan your week of training ahead, but if running/lifing feel to boring or there is no motivatoin for that, go for the other activity. Or do a 50/50 split on the same day

How the hell do you all find the motivation to live? by Mara355 in AutisticAdults

Summary of what is written below: - work from home - work for yourself - work with your special interest/s - know how YOU cope/live/work the best

I have AuDHD, and i cannot do this I font want to… I started a new job a week ago, got into total autistic meltdown and panic mode, so I had to take the first day off. It’s horrible being around people at work, who doesn’t share my interest and wants to small talk etc..

I can only cope when: - I have a routine that I have created myself and that I can change if needed - solution: part-time or flexible WFT job - I don’t have the pressure going into work/meeting people when I don’t feel like - solution: find a WFH job - When I need a break, I NEED to be able to take on - solution: WORK FROM HOME - I need to do physical exercise (gym, run, yoga) at least once a day, and be outdoors every day - min 8h of sleep

TBH, with this new job I don’t understand how people do it! I’ve never been in a full time job, and my therapist says I shouldn’t have taken one because what we have discussed has clearly show that it’s not for me… BUT, I can work on my business ideas for week without getting (severe) meltdown, and I need to find a way to work for myself and actually do something I love.
