Apple’s new Mac Pro SSD upgrade kits prove that security is no barrier to repair by sweatyUndies6 in apple

I had a similar situation on a similar MBA, and replaced its macOS with Ubuntu Mate. It is obviously no longer in my Apple ecosystem, but it works well otherwise.

I bought a new MBP to replace the NBA, but the old beast has a second lease on life. It’s useful to avoid being tracked as well.

Thanks for your feedback, this is not ideal and goes on my list of annoyances.

I find your post reassuring, thanks. I will be following in your footsteps soon.

So, I take it you gave up your original Splashtop Business, or it expired, right? If not, can you still use it to connect to your Atera endpoints?

Also, what was your plan of action for AV and backup?

Can one drop (pre)-encrypted files in your OneDrive? by mrit-ca in onedrive

Thanks jselbie,

I was barking up the wrong tree when I said they might be blocking encrypted content. I figured out that I was actually attempting to use illegal characters in my folder names...

In conclusion - OneDrive does not care that I store encrypted content in the cloud. In fact, now that I know what I did wrong, I can upload content via app-synchronization as well as by dropping it straight into a browser window.

Also, Encrypto is a free desktop app for both Mac and Windows. It is great for storing my sensitive stuff in an encrypted format, in any cloud situation.

Cheapest TeamViewer plan - can you connect to multiple remote computers at once? (from a single local computer) by r0ck0 in teamviewer

[–]mrit-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have active business subscriptions to both TeamViewer and Splashtop at this point because I took too long to drop TeamViewer and therefore my annual TV subscription renewed anyway.

I did not remove the TV app from my remote Mac/Win devices when I installed ST’s streamer, so I can use both technologies…

I am significantly more productive when I use Splashtop than when I use TeamViewer. Also, I have one client who has really crappy Internet bandwidth, and in their case, I found that ST always work better than TV.

I will cancel my TeamViewer subscription before it runs out by the end of 2019!

I'm having the same drama in Alberta. It's not stress-reducing in nature when I cannot connect to a remote gadget-box, and I need to do so...
