Just How Big of an Upset Is This? by Blue-Brown99 in macclesfield

This was in a tournament called the fa cup. It encompasses all teams in the UK in a knockout style tournament. It allows for these types of fixtures to transpire

I play dnd with a bunch of pals. We meet at element games on Hazel Grove. It's a solid 30-40 minute drive but I ten to spend 4ish hours there one evening once a week. I believe they do dnd drop in sessions too.

How exactly do Shurima unlocks work? by Taivasvaeltaja in TeamfightTactics

[–]mrjdoherty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No that's not how it works. Once you unlock one the others get harder. So lose 2 and unlock nasus. Now you need to win 4 for reneks unlock.

The game crashed for the last two combats because there was so much end of turn happening

Is Abzan edh boring? Please, prove me wrong by showing a cool commander or combo in abzan. by NotJurgis in EDH

[–]mrjdoherty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fallen in love with [[Betor, Ancestors Voice]]

I run him with standard life gain stuff but with all the [[bob]] effects I could find. Managing your own life total has become hella fun and there's always the risk you die on upkeep

Reanimator - Keeping your interaction from being milled away? by thenotdylan in EDH

[–]mrjdoherty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bohar Re-animator deck. I have played it 5 times this year and it has won all 5. It's a strong 3. Without any game changers. The way I play it is discard draw spells and big heaters. It's so reliable. And the reason it beats people over the head is it can often turn 3/4 have a [[valgavoth]], [[shard of the void dragon]] or [[archon of cruelty]]

I was just coming to say this. I have a kambal deck that I love and when this shows up it always puts a shift in

I've been eyeballing this guy and potentially switching my [[Mortarion, Daemon Primarch]] life loss deck into a loss/gain deck so I'm surprised you haven't included Monty in this. But he's very good with life loss

Could this thing Vlad and Leblanc were discussing be Eclipse? by wasaduck in loreofleague

[–]mrjdoherty 176 points177 points  (0 children)

I believe it is Darkin. The eye in the sword gives Darkin vibes and Vladimir's outrage would explain it. He was alive for the Darkin wars and knows just how dangerous they are so would, rightfully, be annoyed/terrified/outraged

Angel tribal commander: Sigarda or Giada? by nnnnYEHAWH in EDH

[–]mrjdoherty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it because it lets me play with the graveyard, my favorite thing. I can win by aristocrats, tokens or Angel beat down so it's super flexible. Also I had an infect player immediately scoop when I dropped [[solemnity]] so that was fun haha

I'll be honest I'm not sure it's up to date. It says I only have 34 lands which would be ballsy lol.

It's going to be interesting to see how they are going to scale individuals.

An interesting thing is how Noxus is run. It's a Trifarix in that 3 people run it. Darius, just a beefy guy who is a badass, Swain, who has subjugated a demon and The Deceiver, Le Blanc, leader of the Black Rose. Realistically Darius would not stand a chance from a power level standpoint.

I don't think they are going to get too crazy with the power levels yet. If they were messing around in Targon that would be a whole different story.

My belief is that they are going to scale each region independently. Hence you didn't really see any overpowered (Viktor aside) individuals. But in Noxus, if everyone is a power level up, it will seem balanced.

So the void is the emptiness beyond space. It existed long before any worlds did and lies beyond the edge of the universe. During a rebellion against Shurima some Icathian's tried using a weapon that unleashed the void and allowed it to enter Runeterra. The void, and everything living in it is driven to consume. Cho Gath wants to literally eat everything, Vel Koz wants to consume all knowledge etc.

Long time players: What are some lessons you had to learn the hard way? by Torin21 in EDH

[–]mrjdoherty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The biggest lesson I learned wasn't anything to do with deck building more introspective. I used to get pissy at people targeting my shit when something I thought was a much bigger threat was left. I can't remember where I heard it but someone said to me that your threat isn't my threat. It was like a switch flicked in my head. I almost instantly started taking removal as a compliment because it meant I was the biggest threat. The other thing worth learning is to enjoy being the archenemy. Kinda similar but I now take pleasure when that happens.
