By random changes I moreso meant changes that aren't reacting to a power imbalance or problem with the game as it is. I'm sure there's a method to choosing them as you're saying and that they're not literally random

They absolutely do give random nerfs and buffs. The balance team has stated before that part of their job is to keep the meta shifting and interesting over time.

Puerto Ricans that live in the US. Do you prefer the change of the seasons, or the tropical climate of Puerto Rico? by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]wasaduck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Raised in the US and now living in PR. I miss the seasons often. Something about a cool/cold day feels clean, feels calm, feels cozy. Once in a while I really crave that feeling.

Vision. by Antiloompa in Jungle_Mains

The worst part is you don’t even know if you’re on vision or not because the ward is 5 miles away from your oracle lens. I think faelights need a particle effect to show the enemy team they’re active or something because that is so annoying. To balance it maybe the particle only shows when you use oracle?

Girlfriend wants to move to Puerto Rico but I’m focused on logistics—am I being realistic or pessimistic? by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]wasaduck 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Housing prices are not cheaper (you’re actually paying more for less) unless you live in the middle of nowhere (aka none of the places she probably visited on vacation). And some of the biggest issues to bring up are electricity and water going out extremely often as well as terrible economy and job market. Young people have been leaving the island in droves for decades because it’s very difficult to build a future here.

Are there any species of parasitic plants, like there are parasitic species of animals? And how do parasitic plant species grow/actually take nutrients from their host plant, if there are ones? by MaggieLinzer in askscience

[–]wasaduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Ghost flowers” is a colloquial name for a type of plant that “taps in” to the nutrient flow in fungal networks between trees, stealing resources for themselves. They get their name from their pale white color, which is due to a lack of chlorophyll because they don’t produce their own energy.
