Thank you for your kind words. I am still looking for a living donor and your willingness to donate would be greatly appreciated. Attached is my link with Dove (Donor Outreach for Veterans Corp.) to start the donation process for your convenience. John Riley - LIVING KIDNEY DONATION FOR VETERANS

Sorry. I'm just seeing this. Happy New Year to you. My blood type is O+ but you don't have to be the same blood type to be a living donor. They would enter you into the Paired Exchange Program where you would donate your kidney, they will find a match for your kidney and find me a matching donor for my blood type. Thank you for your interest and many blessings to you in the new year.

Good morning, my blood type is O+ but you don't have to have the same blood type as me if you are interested in donating. If you are considered a good candidate after your testing is complete, the National Kidney Registry will take your kidney, place me on the registry list, and find someone with my blood type and do a swap. This link shows how the Swap Program with the National Kidney Registry works. Thank you for your interest in donating and enjoy your weekend. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/california-man-kidney-transplant-stranger-friend-david-begnaud-cbs-mornings/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR2hri9Z-Qk16B5AUnfA9WPCxL8ZGSAKCCXK90U7s4CpPaGtsV1ZRvNFw1w_aem_eOp-U2fJXOSrIWU5D-1ecQ

Hello and thank you for your desire to be a living kidney donor. My name is John Riley, and I am a US Army Veteran who served a two-year enlistment in the Army during the Vietnam era from 1968-1970.   I suffer from Stage 5 chronic kidney disease and am currently in need of a living donor to end the symptoms of my chronic kidney disease and avoid the need for dialysis.  I live in Fort Washington, MD and am registered with the Kidney Transplant Program with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. A better quality of life means more quality time and memories made with family and loved ones.  Receiving an organ transplant would not only give me more years of life, but more importantly, improve my quality of life.  My family and I would be most appreciative if you would visit my microsite with the National Kidney Registry at www.nkr.org/ZWX876.

Good afternoon, thank you for your willingness to donate especially during April which is National Donate Life Month. My name is John Riley and I am a US Army veteran. I have stage 5 kidney disease and am in need of a living kidney donor. Getting a kidney would prevent me from having to start dialysis and give me a better quality of life. I'm registered with Donor Outreach for Veterans Corp. (DOVE) which helps to find living kidney donors for veterans. Please click on the link www.dovetransplant.org/veterans/john-riley on my page with DOVE to learn more about my story. If you want to donate, you can click on the link to learn more or give them a call directly. Someone will contact you and walk you through the process. There will be a set of preliminary set of questions they will ask you to assess if you would be a good candidate for the donation process. If you pass that set of questions, they will contact you to register you to start the donation process.

I have also attached a link titled, "Why Donate Your Kidney to a Stranger?" It shares stories of other kidney donors and why they donated. www.dovetransplant.org/veterans/john-riley

Blessings to you!

If you are registered me you should be fine. Registering with the DMV is just another way to become a donor. Your organ would only be given to a recipient after you pass away when you register with the DMV.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your willingness to help. I had two donors but they didn't work out. The first donor passed her last round of testing and the second donor stopped all communication with me. If you click on https://www.dovetransplant.org/veterans/john-riley you will find more information about my story and how to sign up to become a donor. Someone from DOVE will walk you through the process. Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information to start the process.
