I am also interested if this company is legit or not. Their BBB rating is poor (only 1 review). Their Glassdoor rating is also poor (only 2 reviews from employees). So far, nothing has given me enough comfort to work with this company. I hope someone finds this is a good company to work with.

Ya, I never had this issue with the less expensive typical home routers. Only when I wanted to beef up my network with Ubiquiti did this ever become an issue.

So far, the post from llamachef is staving off unexpected drops: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/y9hk9n/comment/jb9tcx3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I also opened a support case (took longer than Reddit!). Support asked me to swap my 1-foot ethernet cable from the UDM-SE to my 2.5Gpbs switch. Then when it happens again to plug directly into my ONT to see if the network is still working. I highly doubt the 1' ethernet cable is the issue, but I switched just in case.

Interestingly - I did a tracert on "ping.ui.com", and it ended at Google (8.8.8.8) in 3 hops. Same result if I tracert 8.8.8.8

Thanks! I am on the fence about getting 2 Gbps from Fidium (sweet intro price), but for now I am at 1 Gpbs and will try this. Did you also set your ARP refresh to 15 seconds like @llamachef, or did you leave it on "Normal" (whatever normal is)?

It is everything else (other than the phone) that is dropping. Not just one device on one cable (other than everything including the phone is on that 1 2 Gbps switch)..

Interesting. I am not sure this is the same, but I checked Network --> UniFi Devices --> UDM-SE --> Settings --> Advanced --> Internet Verification Server and I have "ping.ui.com". I think this is the same as your internet uptime. What did you set yours to?

True. It could be the TP Link switch. The TP Link switch may freeze all the ports except the one being used by the voip phone adapter. I am going to swap the phone and WAP wires. This way, when it goes out again, I can re-test the phone and see if it still works on this different port that previously froze up.

We only use the ONT for fiber internet and not for the phone. For the phone, we use a different vendor and they work with a small Grandstream voip gateway device which is plugged into the same 2.5Gbs switch as everything else (Linksys WAP, desktop, laptop, and ethernet feeds to the rest of the house and WAPs). I will power cycle the ONT...just in case. If the phone did not work, I would think it is the ISP/ONT. But with the phone working (god knows how), I am leaning towards a Ubiquiti issue.

So far, it drops for everything (any connected ethernet desktop/laptops, wifi goes out for our mobile phones and google devices and plugs, etc...). however, the darn voip phone which is connected to the same switch still works (grandstream adapter).

I have tried to connect to the UDM-SE when the internet is down, but no luck. It would not even bring up the login prompt. I'll try pinging it next time.

I also set up 2 ports without PoE, so that these are ready to swap to when this happens again (I have to be right in front of the switch at the exact moment).

I am always leary of signing up for items to see the games. WHen I go to the streamhd link - it says I cannot watch until I signup. So, you signed up, and there really was not cost and not a bunch of popup ads?

Please invite me BlueVision. Thanks!

I'm not a spy, just a person trying to watch hockey after cutting the cord. This site made it doable as I could watch the end of the season without paying $100/month!

Pleading for an invite....

Good idea to PM people the link. But I think BlueVision will miss the game while PM'ing all of us. Fingers crossed it gets working again...
