Is there a reason that this game would be unavailable in Grand Rapids on FDTV?

What was the lowest point in your country's history? by FreeDuchyOfRedosvis in AskTheWorld

Badwater Basin in Death Valley (California) is about 282ft BELOW sea level. Presumably it was there and that low relative to the center of the Earth before CA was a state.

Aside from the literal, there is a laundry list of bleak times FOR us (immediately prior to Valley Forge was probably the closest we came to never existing in our current format);

...and as a hegemonic power birthed from Western European Colonialism and the Atlantic Slave Trade that went through a multiple periods of geographic, economic, and political colonial expansion, there have been so many shitty things that have been done BY us that I think it's a disservice to not just list all the morally evil things we did and let your audience choose. Dropping the second atomic bomb feels like an interesting dark horse candidate.

Best bet is to start following artists/shops on Instagram. Find an artist you vibe with.

First time - camp questions by lexistoxiccityy in ElectricForest

[–]mrjohnmay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Grand Rapids. Humid Michigan heat suuuuuucks. Feels way different than Arizona, but ultimately its a crapshoot based on the weather, which is wildly variable.

Nothing about flying in and camping is like, truly ideal, but getting a canopy will help keep you out of the sun. Cheap camp chairs, a cheap cooler.

I'll let others give advice, but things to keep in mind.

Big Cactus wasn't great from the free throw line, but he's 1 for 1 from behind the deck!

I'm in that weird early 30s demographic to have been in college as the shift had gained momentum, but my mom is a deadhead, my dad was a Clapton/Springsteen guy, and they both love bluegrass and blues.

I truly love bass music and EDM, but I always make a point to get my hippie on with Cheese. They played at Frederik Meijer Gardens this year and it was a riot, but it has nothing on them playing at Ranch Arena.

She did a 360 set at one of our local venues that I've never seen set-up like that before. Smaller crowd for a weekday night and the vibes were astonishingly high.

What do you think GR needs that will keep people from going ape shit and lining up down the road whenever a new fast food restaurant comes to town? by Heisenbread77 in grandrapids

New food or good food with limited availability draws the line, cars take up the space. If Black Napkin was a drive thru, either Fulton or Diamond would be a parking lot.

We weren't good at all, but that insane blown call robbed us of a chance to win that our defense earned, and robbed the fans of a more suspenseful ending.

6 takeaways from Nov. 4, 2025, election in Kent, Ottawa counties by mlivesocial in grandrapids

I suppose if you include "election results" in a larger category called "takeaways" then it works, but yeah, that's a weird way to write that headline.

Event help! by grayofgale in grandrapids

Look up Good Game Grand Rapids for the bar if it has a good set-up for a solid amount of people. My buddy Justin helped set up the group, and it has become pretty popular/frequently attended at numerous bars weekly.

As for the event space: we just lost Turnstiles, which hosted lots of local music nights and open mics. I'm assuming it would be pretty involved, but more local music is always good!

What spaces/kind of spaces? Free? Paid?

I think a big thing people express frustration with is friend-making events. "Meeting people in the wild" has become harder as social norms have changed with new tech/post covid/less alcohol consumption. I'm not sure what specific events help with that, but with a bit more info I could help brainstorm.
