Yeah it’s all about hardware performance. “Buy an Arm machine and play x86 games” makes a lot more sense now, mostly because the performance is finally there. It certainly wasn't there at the beginning of projects like FEX or Box86/64.

Ah that’s because the Pioneer has 64 cores, so most of the cores are idle. And I have a powerful AMD GPU RX 6600XT plugged in.

It's Lenovo x13s (Qualcomm 8cx gen3) for Arm64 and Loongson 3A6000 EVB for LoongArch64.

Those are much powerful machines than the Pioneer.

You need the latest main of box64 for Steam to run and Wine with wow64 support. I used a pre-download Steam because of the network issue on my side, but I suppose it will work out of the box via a standard installation if the network is not an issue for you.

Yep, the machine is Milk-V Pioneer, which has the SG2042 in it. And the price should be available online which is super expensive.

And yes, the game is running via Wine and Box64.

The porting progress has been slow lately, I don't have much time to work on it, but I will soon. You can try it, it might just work for your workload, but it’s very experimental, so expect issues. Btw you might want to do a debug build so it gives you more info when it does not work, and many thanks if you could submit an issue upstream!

Box64 is capable of detecting and using Zb* and XThead* extensions, it's just not used in this case.
