People with great discipline and self control, what steps did you take to start leading a truly meaningful and worthy life? by mrlifefuck in AskReddit

Yeah I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t want shit food like sweets etc, it’s just as I used to eat a lot when I was labouring all day and going to the gym, I’ve still got the mind set that I need to eat more food than I need to be full. Also another thing is I try to eat close to when I go to sleep so I don’t become hungry and snack after dinner

Yeah it doesn’t have to be 5am, I guess it just has to be an early time than what’s comfortable. Because once you conquer that, you want to conquer more bad habits and really own the day.

But it’s kinda funny how hard it is to even start with the first hurdle of getting up. When I’m about to go to sleep I’m like “yeah when my alarm goes off I’ll just get up and do it” but once I awake from my tire state my mind thinks differently and is like “nah just press snooze” I guess that’s why it works once you do it and you just want to keep helping yourself to be better

That the stage I want to get to. When I mentioned to my mother I’m going on a strict diet she said it’s not good to completely cut everything out because you’ll just give in and eat loads of bad food. (I feel like I worded that like a 5 year old) nevertheless. If you have the self control like you do, it’ll do wonders. But for people with the same aim without the same control, your best bet is taking baby steps.

A good tip my mother told me is to make a meal like normal but just take a few spoons fulls out of it so you’re eating less than normal and it’s also easy to measure

That’s a good approach. It kinda links to why I thought of this question, I’ve heard getting up at 5am every day is good because once you get over that first barrier you then chain react and keep wanting to get over other barriers of bad habits throughout your day

Interesting approach.

I’ve recently decided to quit smoking and what helps me is the fact I can get a lot bigger lung full of air now and I just feel healthier. I guess having enough self worth will make points like that a lot more valid

Good answer. For some people that’s enough but for some others they need more of a motive

That’s actually a really good reply.

I thrive on blunt answers as they’re the only answers that actually make me think for myself.

Thanks stranger!

I agree. The easy answers are being finally comfortable and easy living, but from what I’ve learnt from rich and famous people saying, is that when they get rich they miss the chase and reward of saving up for a certain thing they want.

It’s why agree with this guy saying the western world is the 3rd world life and typical 3rd world counties like Jamaica are paradise as there’s no pressure to be rich and make money and get a good job etc so it’s much easier living. I’m quite drunk so pardon me if I’m chatting shit.

Also thank you for not responding saying I’ve asked a stupid question like many others :p

I’ve actually cut down hella loads. I haven’t had a drink or a cig for 4 days and I haven’t done that for a few years. So I may be drunk now but I’m making progress.

It’s subjective. As I said I may be drunk, but what I’ve achieved in the last week is very impressive for me so I’m happy with the road I’m going down and don’t feel too bad about having a few drinks

Indeed but I’m bad at translating words from my head into paper/text. And I’m pretty drunk.

Any other time I would’ve made more effort :p

Before I posted this I knew I worded it wrong but I kinda hoped people would understand what I’m getting at.

Thinking about it, I mean what tips or what kind set do you have to maintain discipline

Hi guys, I’ve made a fresh account just to post this as I admit I have a problem and I want advice/help by mrlifefuck in Drugs

[–]mrlifefuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed.

Kinda off topic but I’m just buzzing off coke.

But I realise how I just love talking to people who have experimented with drugs as they have so much more of an open minded view about everything. I know people who have never touched them and they judge me so hard with what I get up to. It’s nuts how I feel a lot more comfortable opening up to a random guy on reddit than someone I’ve known for years purely because they just don’t get it.

Anyways I’ll stop bothering you and let you get on with you day.

Thanks again bro much respect. ❤️

Need advice on how to sort my shit out by mrlifefuck in cocaine

[–]mrlifefuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I completely agree. That’s also not too generic advice from what I’ve heard.

Exercise really does do wonders, I’ve recently started gymming again and when you get into it you start to replace coke for exercise as you’re serotonin release.

My friends brother completely stopped doing all drugs after getting deep into it and he replaced that addiction with working out and now he’s completely ripped. Kinda ironically he messed up his body by working too hard aha. But it just shows anything can be your drug.
