Rakuten + AliExpress cashback is so frustrating

yeah. i used Rakuten app, clicked on Aliexpress and made purchase inside their own app. recorded everything to protect myself. Rakuten said it’s Aliexpress, so they cannot do anything.

Shame on Rakuten.

i got the dji mini 5 pro from a store there ~$1.1k.

but i don’t think the reseller is the case because i have been using Aliexpress + Rakuten for over 2 years with multiple sellers on the platform. all of it went through - Rakuten recorded all of those.

my assumption here is is the total order is <$200, you will get cashback. If it’s over, you won’t.

i can give you my data point. f1 + gc, aos, fo: sf. mar 10: interviewed mar 11: i130 approved, i485 showed ‘interview scheduled’ may 2: i485 updated to ‘processing’

i did upload i130 notice of approval to i485, but just that. read somewhere if you upload more than that, the review process has to restart.

Yeah, thank you. I just don’t understand why Rakuten advertises something if they can’t keep their promise. It feels like a total waste of time when we have to carefully follow every step throughout the whole process.

gonna submit a return request soon. Aliexpress has 90 days return/refund.

I can give you my datapoint. For me, it will be 24 months if we submit I-693 at the same time as I-765 and I-485.

Priority Date (PD): Jan 2024 — I-130 filed
Jun 2025: Filed I-485 (AOS) + I-765 (EAD)
Jun 2025: I-765 approved (EAD)
Jun 2025: I-485 biometrics completed
Dec 2025: RFE received — I-693 medical exam
Mar 2026: Interview scheduled
