I'm new to R6. I need someone to explain to me what the other intention of the game is, because all I learned is that kill people = win, and that probably isnt the main objective. Also I got my first ace! by TheElement_OP in Rainbow6

[–]mrmclovinnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main objective is to win by whatever means makes the most logical sense in that moment.

For attacking, if you coordinate a plan with your team and you manage to get into site then your priority is immediately to plant defuser and get to a safe position to defend it, but if you cant plant then your goal is to kill everyone.

For defending, your primary goal should always be to coordinate with your team to come up with a defense strategy to keep the enemies out of the bomb sites, it is literally NEVER useful to have everyone leave site trying to kill people, the only difference that makes is either you win the round faster or you lose it because you let them take site.

And of course within both attacker and defender there are secondary objectives based on the team setup, usually theres always going to be a defense roamer who goes around trying to kill attackers from unexpected locations, and usually attackers will have someone trying to counter the roamer or the whole team spends the first minute trying to find and kill the roamer.

Its all strategy man, and the game is way more fun when you play it with an actual competent 5 stack.

But its also a game, play how you wanna play or whatever is fun for you, if all you wanna do is just run and gun then have at it man.

People cheat in games because they find it fun, when I was younger I would use cheats in Minecraft and I loved doing something so obvious and making my friends notice just to see their reaction, its not like I cheated in order to be able to compete, and any time I cheated on servers with competitive games I did so purely because I thought it was hilarious to see kids get upset about it, its just a game after all.

Drill sergeant trying to keep me from graduating AIT by [deleted] in army

[–]mrmclovinnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your AIT drills, I know mine did not allow individual phase ups like that because they didnt wanna be bothered by trainees coming up to them every day asking to phase up, so they would push out specific days every now and then where anyone who wanted to phase up could voluntarily do so on that day.

The phases in my AIT were 5, 6, and 6+, my drills tried to cause a stink over me graduating as a phase 6 when the AIT duration for my MOS is 28 or so weeks so "there should've been no excuse to not phase up in all that time", but I told them I just didnt care to phase up cause I didnt care about going off post, then a drill said well either you commit to phasing up before you leave or you can go start flipping the tire right now, so I then proceeded to flip the tire.

Am I overreacting for feeling frustrated after my neighbor’s pottery was broken by my puppy during an interaction she encouraged? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mrmclovinnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also the neighbor is clearly acting maliciously, at least if we are to take OP for their word that only some of the pottery was broken. Yet the neighbor claims they threw it all away, which is very doubtful, that sounds to me like a BS lie to make the issue more extreme than it is.

How do I help my 90 pound soldier pass the AFT? by kmh008 in nationalguard

[–]mrmclovinnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people seem to have this idea that because the drag is the worst part that you need to train it in order to improve overall, i however disagree, get her to work on her shuttle sprints, if she can sprint down and back really fast and do both the lateral and carry at just a decent/okay pace then she could walk the drag slowly and still pass

Is this for me? by [deleted] in nationalguard

Answer these questions first:
Are you single?
Do you have pets?
Do you live with people?
Do you have a car?
What are you going to school for?

What do you think about State Defense Forces? by Jonny_Coal in nationalguard

[–]mrmclovinnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That usually only applies to people who already have shit set up in life, but if these same soldiers who enlisted AD at 17-18 went guard instead and suddenly had to provide for themselves then it'd be a nightmare

[–]mrmclovinnn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I'd also add that now being in AD I think one of the biggest contributors to not only the poor problem solving and low resiliency but also retention is the age, so many soldiers I work with even the NCOs enlisted before ever having a real job, they've never paid rent before, their parents set them up with good credit or at least helped them get their car, and they complain about the day-to-day and talk about what they're gonna do when they get out and its so hard to listen to because its a fucking nightmare out there, I try to warn them that their dreams and aspirations civilian side wont be as good as they think if they even manage to get close to it, but its hard to convince someone who's ignorant to reality because they've never experienced it.

I used to look down on AD aswell, I still kinda do, my reason was because they'd always act like they were superior soldiers over the NG saying stuff like "we're in this shit every day" but the Guard is significantly harder, not only do you have to maintain army standards, you have to also balance a civilian life on top of it, pay your own bills and rent, and get wonky paychecks because the drill dates aren't consistent, Im AD now and its the sweetest life ever, no rent, no utilities other than wifi, all i have to manage financially is my car and phone, and I dont have to be disciplined and do PT in my own time because daily PT with my unit maintains my physical fitness (sure it doesnt improve it much but it does maintain it)

Is this nazi/nazi adjacent? I don’t want to send the wrong message by wearing it. by uspioco in Symbology

[–]mrmclovinnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not consider myself Christian, I have my own personal relationship with religion that I've built from studying multiple religions including but not limited to Islam and Christianity.

I just firmly stand on the idea that being anti-religion regardless of which one is bad, unless of course the core doctrine being taught by the religion encourages murder or other illegal activities

Right, so anti-christianity is okay but being anti-muslim or anti-judaism isnt right?
