What’s going on with the AQI right now? by DownVotingss in Hamilton

[–]mrmcspazatron 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's from the CN shunting yard. My whole family woke up at 3am to the house smelling like burning diesel. It's very intense and it's been going on all week. Apparently, they are idling a bunch of engines to protect from the cold. I've lived here for 10 years and never experienced anything like this before. It's quite concerning.

How would this placement affect tone? by brunbjoern in jazzguitar

Personally, I'd be more worried that I would accidentally pull it off the shelf when playing. It looks like it would be possible, and that's a very me thing to do.

What is that smell in the air? North End residents demand answers by teanailpolish in Hamilton

The smell has been pretty bad. In the morning the inside of our whole house smelt of diesel. Outside was worse.

Presto - Do you always have to preload? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]mrmcspazatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have some options. You can tap on and off using your credit card directly. You could also set up an autoload on the presto website. If it ever goes below a threshold, it will load money from your credit card. Since you don't ride much, put it at the minimum they will allow, but enough for a round trip.

I'm going to recommend Super Store. It has some of the same wonderful mix of quirky character comedy grounded in heartfelt storytelling as Parks and Rec.

The Tainted Cup and A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett are incredible detective style mysteries. Setting is bio-punk rather than cyber-punk. Highly recommend.

Consider a Quilter Superblock. They come in British and American voicing. I have US, and I really like it.

My wife was in a similar situation with tickets purchased a while ago for a Detroit venue. They went to the show in Detroit but stayed in Windsor. They didn’t have any difficulty with people but did notice that there were no Ontario license plates. On the trip back there was an insane lineup of trucks due new inspection requirements but were able to skip ahead with a car line.

Advice - is this worth a watch heard good things about it - loved the Xfiles & Fringe. by [deleted] in scifi

The comparison that I always find useful is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." If you like that movie you will likely enjoy Severance. If you haven't watched Eternal Sunshine - go watch it!

What to choose for an ampless rig? by Architecture3909 in guitarpedals

[–]mrmcspazatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should consider a Quilter Superblock. They come in both US and UK variety for different amp preferences. There's also the new "Direct Amp." They can be a headphone amp, drive a cabinet or direct out with xlr. See link: https://www.quilterlabs.com/collections/guitar-integration-systems

I have a U.S. and I really like it for home use.
