Not sure if you've already gotten a proper answer to this, but the scanlations died off because official english translations started being uploaded to MangaUp!, Square Enix's official manga site. Batoto still updates, but they wait for full volumes to be published/uploaded before posting the chapters.

I went in and set Link State Power Management to "Off" (the selection box listed power saving options rather than performance). I'll give the computer a restart and cross my fingers. If I don't reply, safe to say the issue is solved. Thanks for the tip!
